I. OBJECTIVES

1. To be acquainted with the chemical properties of carbonyl compounds and


carbohydrates.

2. To observe the differences in the chemical reactivity of aldehydes and ketones.

3. To perform chemical tests that characterizes the different types of carbohydrates.
