THE STANDARD
The Standard is meant to act as a basis in relationships between economic, scientific, technical and social partners.
The Standard is essentially optional. However, when referenced in a contract, it is to be followed by the concerned
parties. Upon regulation, use of part or entire standard can be made compulsory.
The standard is a document drawn up out of consensus within a standardization committee upon requests of
representatives of all interested parties. A public survey precedes the actual adoption of the standard. The Standard is
examined regularly to evaluate the suitability to the current contexts.
Every standard comes into effect from the date indicated on the first page.
The verbs must / shall, have to are used to express one or many requirements which ought to be respected to
conform to the current document. These requirements can be found within the framework of the standard or in the
appendix described normative. For test methodology, use of infinitives indicates requirements.
Expressions such as it is appropriate and recommended that are used to express preferred possibilities but
unrequired for conformity to the current document. Verbal forms of can are used to either give useful but non-
compulsory suggestions or advice, or express authorization.
Moreover, the current document can furnish extra information meant for facilitating comprehension or use of certain
elements or for clarifying application, without any mention of requirement to be met. These elements are presented in
the form of notes or appendices.
STANDARDISATION COMMITTEE
Standardization Committee gathers in a given field of activity expertise necessary for working out French specifications
and French positions on projects of European or international Standard. The Committee can also prepare experimental
standards and instruction manuals.

NATIONAL FOREWORD
There is no French or European standard specific to anchoring devices for overhead and
overhead-underground services with insulated cabled, of rated voltage 0,6/1 kV.
The current document has been prepared by Commission UF 20, Electric power cables and
their accessories. Provisions of this standard were part of a specification of an internal
company at EDF.
The tests described in this document are type tests. They assure the user of satisfying
performance, by making use of accessories which subjected to these tests is successful. This
ensures the continuity and the quality of their manufacture.
The current document cancels and replaces the standard NF C 33-042 of February, 1999.

TABLE OF CONTENTS
1 Scope of application
The current document concerns (anchoring/ dead end clamps) of insulated overhead conductor bundles of rated voltage
of 0,6/1 kV, used for the making of services strung on supports or walls. These bundles are defined in the standards and
2 2
include two or four solid wire cables in aluminium of (area/ surface) 16 mm or 25mm .
The document also applies to anchoring devices of insulated underground cables, in accordance with the standard NF C
33-210 for areas (or surfaces) of solid wire core in aluminium of 16 mm2 to 35 mm2 included, used for manufacture of
overhead-underground services and also to any specification of underground service cables, figuring in a client-supplier
agreement.
These (anchoring/ dead end) clamps are meant to be installed on these bundles and cables.
The current document establishes the principal characteristics of different anchoring devices and defines the tests they
have to pass.

7 Type Tests
7.1 Definition
Type test
Test required to be done before supply of a type of material covered by this standard on a general commercial basis , in
order to demonstrate the satisfying operating characteristics which fulfill the planned application.
NOTE The nature of the tests is such that once done, it is not necessary to repeat them unless changes have been introduced in the
accessory materials during its conception or manufacture, changes which are likely to modify the operating characteristics of the
accessory.
The materials subjected to tests must be identified by means of labels/marks and indications of Article 8
The conditions of paragraph 9.1 of standard NF EN 50483-1 apply with the following specifications:
- The insulated conductors or cables used must conform to the norms indicated in Article 1;
o
- The previous packaging of insulated conductors is made at a temperature of ( 120 2) C
7.2.3 Available
For each of the specified tests, the number of samples and the test sequences are given in Appendix A.
For each of the tests described, the numbers of samples as well as the sequence of the tests are indicated in the Appendix
A.
NOTE The humidity conditions defined in paragraph 9.1.9 of the standard NF EN 50483-1 can also be considered applicable for the entire
duration of the corrosion test, the experiment shows that the influence of humidity rate between 25% and 30% on the results is
negligible.
The conditions of paragraph 9.1 of the standard, NF EN 50483-1 apply with these precisions only:
In the case of defects of cable outside the anchoring device the result is not taken into consideration and the tests are
redone with a new device and new cable.
7.2.8 Available
7.2.9 Sanction
The number of samples to be tried is specified for each of the tests. The device is accepted as type device if all results are
satisfying on all of the samples. If not, the device model is declared non-conforming and it is not accepted. A counter-test is
allowed only if the defect of a sample results from an error in the assembly or from a cable defect as indicated in paragraph
7.2.7.
