1. 30 countries on the list would meet the qualification to be considered water stressed (m3 per
capita is lower than 1700). However, this does not necessarily mean that a country is in fact
water stressed -- per capita water use could be low, which would match the similar low
availability of water resources. In addition, water could be imported into the water-depleted
nation in order to fill the deficit in their water demand, though this practice is not ideal.
2. 8 countries on the list are currently withdrawing more water resources than they are
replenishing.
3. The six countries that use the largest amount of their water withdrawals on agriculture are (1)
