The most popular sports in Italy are: soccer,

swimming, volleyball, cycling, motorcycling,
water polo, car racing, artistic gymnastic and
fencing.
Italian National Teams wear light blue
uniforms.

The first sport in Italy is soccer.

The Italian National Football Team is one of
the most important teams in the world.
They won the World Cup four times, in 1934,
1938, 1982, 2006.

The most popular Italian teams are:

Juventus, Inter and Milan.
Volleyball is very popular, too.

One of the strongest Italian volleyball player

is Lorenzo Bernardi.

Swimming is also an Olympic sport in Italy.

It is practiced individually or in team and
every team is formed by four swimmers.
Swimmers are selected by Italian Federation
of Swimming.

In the Olympics of Beijing in 2008 the

champion Federica Pellegrini won the gold
medal.
Federica Pellegrini was born in Venice in
1988.
In 2004 she became the strongest
swimmer in national freestyle getting
more than 15 awards.
She set the world record in the 200 m
freestyle.
Her boyfriend is the swimmer Filippo
Magnini.
