9-9 Theme- Guidance Passage- Psalms 27: 9,11 (9) Do not hide your face from me, do not repel your servant in anger. You are my salvation; do not cast me off; do not forsake me, God my savior! ... (11) Lord, show me your way; lead me on a level path because of my enemies. Reflection- In our modern world, overrun daily with the never-ending flow of media at the tips of our fingers, it can be easily to get lost in the waves of gossip and trends and influences that we are constantly subject to. Media and the new cultures it presents to us encourage lifestyles of the fun, the rich, and the famous, but these can often clash with the way God wants us to live our lives. With many ideas against Gods will becoming common and expected of us, it can be hard to turn away from their temptations, like pre-marital sex and abortion. However, through the midst of the frenzy we see and hear each day, we can turn back to Gods clear voice and words of truth with Scripture, Mass, and prayer. For through these mediums, we come to know the empty, materialistic promises of the culture around us and become more familiar with the fulfilling promises God makes to us. By looking only to him for true guidance in our lives, we can start on the path of righteousness and strive toward our destiny of eternal life with Him in Heaven. Prayer- Holiest and Ever-Loving Father, Source of all that is Righteous and True, we ask that you look with favor upon us Show to us your most sacred face, turn our eyes from idle temptations Lift us in your glory to you, as we struggle to prevail through the throng of our enemies May we see clearly your way, your path of righteousness And free us from the burdens of the unfulfilling ways that beckon Lord, we ask that you forgive us of our past wrongdoings and pray not cast us out For you alone can show us the way to eternal life with you, a road leading to Heaven You alone are the Way, the Truth, and the Light; eternal life flows from your sacred Trinity May your suffering not been in vain, may we come to know you, our Savior May we find the wisdom, courage, and guidance to follow you all the days of our lives, Amen.
