Joyce, and her response was: I think it is accurate and Id say that you take time out of
your day to develop relations and caring for others, which is a valuable trait because a
leader cant only care about themselves. Another person I interviewed was my other
cousin, Carmen, said: Yes, you do take time to talk to other people to make sure
theyre okay and youre not self centered, just like a leader should be like.
recognize and take advantage of all resources to further their personal well-being and
the well-being of their communities. Our graduates will have the skills, habits,
colleges, engage in fulfilling work, and contribute positively to our world. My personal
interpretation of the MetWest Vision Statement is that MetWest is a school that prepares
young adults for the real world by giving us an opportunity to experience internships and
Laney classes. It gives us a head start about what we would have to go through later on
in life. It also mentions how MetWest offers a lot of resources, beyond teachers and
books.
Some parts of the MetWest Statement I could relate to the most would be taking
advantage of resources, gain skills and knowledge, and overcoming obstacles. Some
ways I took advantage of resources was by going to study hall after school. Internships
helped gained some skills and knowledge throughout my two years at MetWest. My first

Being a MetWest scholar means to try your hardest no matter what. MetWest has
taught me that you dont have to be correct at all times, as long as you put in effort and
have confidence in yourself. This school motivates and supports students, no matter
what ethnicity you are, no matter what your GPA score is, and/or what grade youre in.
Something that makes me a MetWest scholar is that I know and take control of my
what itll be like in the real world. I am responsible for my actions as well. Going to
internships, presenting for exhibitions, and (in process of) going to Laney helps prepare
me for what Ill soon later be experiencing in the future. Im dedicated to my work, and I
make sure Im on top of everything I do. When talking about this section, Joyce stated,
I agree because you cancel plans to study and work hard on school outside the class.
Carmen explained a little more, saying: Yes, I remember the time you were stressing
because you used to have a 4.0 and ever since you found out you were behind, you

Overcoming my fear of public speaking is something I feel like I would not overcome,

During the interview, Joyce suggested that I have to gain the ability to put a foot
down when I need to and I have to be able to embrace the power that comes with a
leadership role and inflict discipline when necessary. She also thinks I procrastinate a
lot. Carmen seems to think I should improve on confidence because she feels like Im
