Terrorism and the Effects in The World

As once said by Caroline Knapp, Surely, it's one of terrorism's intended effects,

to literally stun our morale, to blow up strength and will along with buildings, and the reaction is

hard to counter (Caroline Knapp Quotes). That quote shows that the conflict of terrorism and

how it has tried to completely demolish not only America but the rest of the world. There has

been a lot of backlashes because terrorism is such an enormous problem in the world. There are

numerous ways that terrorism has been affecting not only the world as a whole but also everyday

citizens. Terrorism has increased in frequency in the past years, terrorism affects the mental and

physical state in a very detrimental way, and there is a major conflict with a way to stop

terrorism.

Terrorism has been a problem since the beginning of time. The main problem where an

area thought that they are superior and wanted to take over the rest of the world has always

occurred. An example of this is that terrorism has increased exponentially in the amount of

brutality and frequency in recent years. In an article on the topic of terrorism after 9/11 it said,

Worse yet, terrorist organizations have proliferated in recent years (Miller). Not only have the

attacks increased, the groups of people who want to become a terrorist have increased.

Because there has been an incline in the past few years in amounts of terror attacks in the

world, that also means there are more people being affected mentally and physically in a very

detrimental way. In all terror attacks, there are always too many innocent people killed for

something they should not have been killed for. In the 9/11 attacks, there were thousands of

citizens who died and they did nothing wrong and law enforcement people who died for a good

cause. The total casualties for that day was a total of 2,726 death[s] (Deaths). Some people

have to live and suffer from a disability of some sort because of these events. In the Boston

bombing, there were many people who were injured and even lost limbs because of the bombs.

One woman who lost the bottom half of her left leg was Karen Rand McWatters (Boston

bombing: Dead and injured). Karen was at the marathon to cheer on some of her family

members. She had tried to get up close to the front of the crowd to see her family members finish

the race and the bomb went off. The sick people who were the masterminds behind the Boston

Bombing ended up taking a leg from a woman who was there to cheer on her family and spread

positivity. Another thing that had to do with the Boston Bombing is how some people are

mentally affected by the terror attacks. In an interview with Michael Rachita, a runner in the

Boston Marathon, said, I didnt run a marathon for a while after that (Michael Rachita). Mr.

Rachita was lucky enough to not have any physical injuries from the bombing. When he took a

break in running marathons, the terrorist took something away from him. As one can see,

terrorism affects the innocent civilians in a very detrimental way.

The effect of how terrorism has increased in recent years and how it affects the citizens is

the reason many people are desperately trying to find a solution to the major conflict. In a survey

done by a high school student, Laura Tucker, there was information gathered on terrorism topics

from ages twelve to seventy, both genders. There was one question that asked people what they

thought the best way to stop or prevent terrorism is and the choice that is most picked is to try to

improve protective forces (Research Survey). In an article about 9/11 and the impacts of the

event it mentioned how the President took measures into his own hands by, Bush restructured

the U.S. government to establish a Homeland Security Department and enacted a number of

measures to coordinate efforts of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)... and FBI (September

11, 2001). Even after 9/11 occurred there were still terror attacks, so one can imply that trying to

improve the police and protection forces has not worked yet. There was another side of the story

to look at though. One could see that after a terror attack happens in one location, it never

happens there again. That could be due to the fact that terrorist has planned that way or the

precautions protective forces use help to prevent that from happening again. Another problem

with preventing terror attacks is that terrorists have access to weapons or tools that they use to

attack these places. One example of that is the Florida club shooting terror attack. The terrorist

who shot all those people in the nightclub had access to a gun in which they used to kill all those

innocent people. There is no possible way to take away all guns from all people in the entire

world. Overall, one could see that there is a major problem with preventing terrorist attacks.

In conclusion, terror attacks affect the entire world. Terrorist try to corrupt the world and

all the people living on this Earth. In the world terrorism has progressively increased in recent

years, terrorism has majorly and detrimentally affected the people on this Earth mentally and

physically, and finally, there was no good way to prevent or stop terrorism from having it

happen.
