"After the bombing: Brussels - and Europe - are 'Boston strong' too." Christian Science Monitor,
The Boston Marathon bombing occurred on the 15th of April in the year 2013. This was
a tragic moment in history and will never be forgotten. Two bombs went off near the
finish line, and then was followed by a series of shots. This act of terrorism killed three
spectators and wounded over 260 people. After the Boston Marathon occurred, the people
came up with the slogan, Boston Strong, to remind everyone that even in the hardest
times we will still come together as one. Christian Science Monitor gives a brief
explanation on the events that occurred that day and displays it very well.

The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the catastrophic attacks in the French capital.
This was a different attack that occurred and it killed over 224 people. This article states
that eight brothers were wrapped in explosive belts and armed with machine rifles. There
were several groups like these that would just go around killing people. It is really sad to
think about how people can treat other people like this. Rukmini Callimachi explains in
this article how the Islamic State completely took over Paris and destroyed it.

A series of attacks had occurred in Paris all around the same time. Terrorist groups
invaded Paris and killed over 129 people and injured more than 350 people. Authorities
warned residents to stay inside and the city had closed many public buildings. People had
been stuck in their homes for so long with the windows covered and doors locked, that
they did not even know if terrorists were outside. The people were too afraid to even look
outside because if an attacker would see them, they would most likely be killed
immediately. CNN gives us factual information to inform us about the terrorist attacks in

There were four planes that were hijacked that day. Two of the planes went into both of
the World Trade Centers, one of the planes went into the Capital Building roof, and the
other plane crashed into a field. Many of the people inside of the World Trade Center
thought that they would be rescued quickly, surprisingly the people that were inside the
building were instructed to not leave the building. Soon enough, hundreds of New York
City firefighters, police, and Port Authority officers arrived at the scene. They attempted
to fight the fires, but the fires quickly engulfed the buildings and then it was too late.
Darity explains the causes and effects that happened during this sad time.
