General Design
 Calculating the pump head
We use a 1 hp pump in order to calculate the pump head.
The flow rate that offers the pump reachs 50 L/s that is
equal to 8,334 m3 /s.
The model of the pump is a Siemens 1RF3 256-2YC44.
 Taking into account cupper pipes, 25C water and using
energy equations, continuity equations and moody chart for
friction head loss, we obtain:

 The points analyzed in order to obtain the flow rate in the shower is
the point A, localized in the superior part of the water tank to the
point E in the end of the shower.

 Improvements for the system
We can use a Siemens pump of hp that consumes less energy and
its cheaper than the original pump. The original cost $1680 and the
new will cost $1330.
Tuboplus pipe doesnt generate sediment that affects the flow rate
of the system compared to PVC pipes that generates this sedimentt.
Tuboplus doesnt have any reaction with water.
Tuboplus has 30 to 50 years of lifetime.
Supports freezing water and temperatures from 5C to 90C.
So Tuboplus is the best cost-benefit pipe in the market.
Pump selection for water jet cutter

We need to select a centrifugal pump that give us a flow of

70 L/s and pressure on the output of 700 kPa.
 Then we look in a catalog of a distributor to see what type of
centrifugal pumps can supply.
We found a catalogue from a Spanish distributor called BOMBAS
HASA.
 Then we look inside the catalog for a pump that meets the
requirements that we need.
