1. INTRODUCTION

The YOSHIDA Panoura Ultra Pan/Ceph identifies a range of stand alone dental diagnostic X-ray
systems, designed for the execution of the following and distinct radiographic tasks.
Panoramic radiography performs a radiographic exposure of whole dento-maxillo-facial complex.
Cephalometric radiography performs radiographic exposure of the skull at large focus film distance
(FFD), under lateral or oblique or posterior-anterior projection.

Repair or servicing should be performed by qualified service personnel to use this machine safely and
efficiently.

1.1 Warning Marks

There are several types of warning marks printed in this manual and which are attached to this
machine. They are to alert the installer to conditions which require careful attention.

DANGER
This is used to alert the service personal to a direct danger which could cause
injury to the service personal or severe damage to the machine.

WARNING
This is used to indicated an indirect danger to the service personal or to the
machine such as improper mounting method to the wall, etc.

CAUTION
This is to alert the service personal to a condition which needsspecial attention
which could cause service problems but is not serious.

1.2 Model types

The YOSHIDA Panoura Ultra is available in different types, identified as follows.

Type AL: Panoura Ultra Pan/Ceph

Type AR: Panoura Ultra Pan/Ceph
Type B: Panoura Ultra Pan
Type CL: Panoura Ultra Pan/Ceph with Base plate

2. COMPONENTS OF PANOURA ULTRA
For further details, please see the Operating Instraction Manual.

2.1 Column
At the topside it has to be fixed to the wall by means of two bolts. At the bottom side it has to be fixed
to the floor by means of four bolts.
It includes motor drive systems to drive C-carriage vertically and main power terminal blocks, to which
mains power cable is connected.

2.2 C-carriage
The C-carriage slides along the column providing adjustment to the patient height.
The internal mounting frame accommodates a printed circuit board controlling emission of X-ray,
various motor movement and communication to the remote control.
The arm drive motor is located on the top frame, controlling the rotational movement of the rotating
arm. Most of the electric circuit is also located on the top frame.
Further more the patient handgrip, the chin-rest and the optical patient positioning devices are
available on the C-carriage.

2.3 Rotating arm

The rotating arm is suspended to the C-carriage. It carries the tube head and cassette drive system
with the relevant motor.

2.4 X-ray tube head

The X-ray tube head contains the high voltage transformer and the filament transformer with the X-ray
tube. On the X-ray output window the beam limiting system is mounted.

2.5 Head support

The head support is attached to the C-carriage. The sensor for automatically kVp setting is provided in
the head support base.

2.6 Cephalo unit

The cephalo arm is bolted on the both side of the C-carriage body plate, and comprises the
cephalostat with cassette holder.

2.7 Remote control

The remote control with exposure switch allows execution of a radiogram by operator in a separate
room. It is equipped with 10m interconnecting cable for connection to the equipment, and incorporates
an "X-ray ON" buzzer and light indicator.

3. TECHNICAL DATA

3.1 Error code

Error codes are displayed on the exposure time indicator on the remote box.
Error code: E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, E6, E7, E8, E9, Ar, AL, CF, Cb, Fr, FL, EH, Hi, Lo, ES, EC, EE
If an error code is displayed, please refer 9.LIST OF ERROR CODE.

3.2 Mechanical data

The system feature reduced weighs thanks to motor drive technology. It is required no counter weight
to balance to the C-carriage and its attachment or brake for safety.

3.3 Electrical data

3.3.1 Mains requirements
The equipment must be connected to the mains by plug . It requires a single-phase mains supply with
line and neutral and protective earth.
It is essential that the correct phase-neutral polarity connection is verified at installation time.

3.3.2 Mains voltage, current, frequency, voltage regulation and Input power
Rated line voltage is 112V---128V, 60Hz. Line voltage regulation is 2%---5%.
Maximum line current is 10A.
Input power is 1.2 kVA.

3.3.3 Mains supply cord

The mains supply cord is provided with the unit. Each wire size is 14 AWG (2.0mm2).
The cord is approved by UL standards.

APPENDIX VI. REPLACING TUBE CURRENT CONTROL PCB(XE05-03)

Adjust the following items after replace circuit board and connect wires.

(1) Measurement of Tube Current

Turn power OFF and remove power plug from the wall outlet.
Remove front cover and turn #2 of dip switch 1 on the CPU circuit board (XE05-07A) ON. And turn #4
of dip switch 2 ON.
The machine is set to test mode.

CAUTION
This mode is only for X-ray exposure. Rotating arm does not move.
See settings in APPENDIX III DIP SWITCH for more details.

Verify that power is OFF and remove top cover. Remove connector 1 PIN which is connected to
yellow wire of #7 and #8 on terminal block(TB4).
Set tester to DC current mode and connect probe to male and female ends of the connector 1 PIN
which you just removed from the machine.

WARNING
Make sure that probe of tester is not removed to connection. If you expose X-ray
with probe removed, it may cause damage to the machine.

WARNING
After you remove the top cover, inside of the machine may cause electrical shock.
Remove power plug from the wall outlet before you start handling with parts in the
machine.

Turn power ON, measure current value when X-ray exposed by using tester to verify that tube current
is in the range of the following values. Measure it under tube voltage set to 90kV.

Panoramic Mode: Tube current 5.8mA---6.2mA

Cephalometric Mode: Tube current 9.5mA---10.5mA

If measured value is not in the range of these values, refer (2) Adjusting Tube Current and adjust tube
current.

WARNING
To avoid electrical shock, do not touch inside when top cover is removed and
power is ON.

After check and adjustment, turn power OFF and remove power plug from the wall outlet.

- 75 -
Remove probes of tester and connect connector 1PIN.

WARNING
Verify that connector 1PIN is re-connected before use. If X-ray is exposed without
this connector, it may cause damage to the machine.

(2) Adjusting Tube Current

If measured current value is out of specified range, see the following steps and adjust tube current.
For panoramic mode, adjusted tube current is 5.8---6.2mA. Rotate VR2 at PC board (XE05-03) as
shown in the following figure to adjust current.

For cephalometric mode, adjusted tube current is 9.5mA---10.5mA. Rotate VR-3 at PC board
(XE05-03) as shown in the following figure to adjust current.

WARNING
To avoid electrical shock, do not touch any part except for parts described above
when top cover is removed and power is ON.
