Cambridge

Cambridge is a non-metropolitan district of the United Kingdom, a very old English

university town and the county capital of Cambridgeshire, on the banks of the River Cam.

It is approximately fifty miles from London and is surrounded by several towns and
villages. His fame is owed to the University of Cambridge, which includes Cavendish
Laboratories (named after Henry Cavendish), Addenbrooke Hospital, King's College
Chapel Choir, and the University Library. These last two buildings stand out from the rest
of the city. In the city there is also a campus of Anglia Ruskin University.

According to the census of 2001, the city has 108 863 inhabitants1 (of them, 22 153 are
students).

The name of the city means "Bridge of the [river] Cam".

In April 2011, the city was renamed the Duke of Cambridge nobility title to Prince William
Arturo Philippe Louis after his marriage to Catherine (Kate) Middleton, due to the British
tradition that royal princes were granted A noble title upon marriage.
