The Computer Geek Computer Company needs help in setting up a worksheet


for its payroll. Please help them by setting up a workbook with a worksheet. The
worksheet will need the appropriate information such as a heading, header and
footers, compiled by: statement and todays
date.

This workbook needs to show the basic


payroll information with absolute
referencing (used when you absolutely
always want to use a certain number like
with deductions), an IF statement, and the
formatting features listed below.

The employees of the company are paid a base


salary with a bonus for selling above a certain
amount of services.

For all employees, add columns as


necessary to show gross wages,
deductions as listed, total deductions and
net pay. Be sure to provide totals for the appropriate columns.

Gross Wages Weekly salary + Bonus if received

Net pay = Gross wages all deductions listed below.

Social Security 6.45% of gross (social security *gross)


Medicare 1.45% of gross (Medicare * gross)
Federal withholding 15% of gross (federal *gross)
State withholding 4% of gross (state * gross)

The salespeople are paid their base salary as shown and a commission of 2% of
their sales if the sales are over $40,000 for the week. (Use an IF statement for
this).

After you have finished your worksheet, go back and include the following
formatting features somewhere on the page. (Not everything is required
everywhere).
sort employee names alphabetically
merge and center titles/subtitles
format dollars on the first line and the total lines with the accounting format
and no decimals
use percent signs on all percent cells
use commas on all numbers that need them
use a border somewhere
bold something
use three different font styles
use three different font sizes
shade cells sparingly (make sure it is readable)
change a font color
use two different cell styles somewhere

Save your document to your I:\drive folder.
