A Prayer to Prepare for the Mission
Two disciples of John the Baptist ask Jesus where he was staying. Jesus
said: Come and See. One of the disciples, Andrew brought his brother, Peter,
to Jesus. Later Philip answered Jesus call to follow him. Philip told Nathaniel
about Jesus, and Nathaniel answered: Can anything good come from that
place (Nazareth). Philips said, Come and See.
We disciples are called to walk with people on their way to the Lord as they go
to see Jesus. Our genuine interest in their spiritual welfare, our prayers and
our involvement with them say without words, Come and see. Lets walk
together, and Ill take you to Him.

Father in heaven, you have called me to be the disciple of your Son, Jesus
Christ. Sometimes I am a loving, faithful disciple, but sometimes I become
lukewarm. I would like to be close to Jesus and his Church, but I sometimes
stray. Give me the grace, as I prepare for the Parish Mission, to be born again
in my faith so that I may truly live and love the Gospel and share it in my life.

Father in heaven, you have called us to be the Parish of St. Pauls & St.
Marys. We wonder how we manage to justify your trust in us. You know and
we know that we are still on the journey you called us to. On that journey we
sometimes make your Son visible in the world, and we sometimes hide him by
our sin and weakness. We pray that in the parish we will together help one
another come and see and so help others to hear and answer the call of
Jesus to them
