The Economics of Tourism in Livingston County
Tourism plays a vital role
in the economy of Livingston
County. Not only do resi-
dents experience economic
benet from the money that
visitors spend in our area,
tourism also generates ad-
ditional local tax revenues
to the tune of $3.04 mil-
lion annually, and supports
more than 1,100 seasonal
and year-round jobs. This
outside money coming in is
important as it helps reduce
the burden of expenses on
our local residents. With-
out this tax revenue, each
household in Livingston
would be responsible for at
least $259 more in taxes
annually.
Tourism also contributes
to the quality of life in Liv-
ingston County by support-
ing many businesses that
offer recreation, shopping,
and cultural experiences
