incessantcoughingandnewvisionailments,includingtheretinatodetachforwhichthepatientcameto
askformyadvice.Thesenewandtroublesomesymptomsconstituteadissimilaraggravationasnot
belongingtothepathogenesisofthegivenremedy,althoughsomeinsecurityremainsasthedetachment
ofretinaisamereclinicalsymptomthathardlyappearedduringproperlyconductedprovings.Duetothe
dangerousactionofthegivenremedyIodum,itsantidotePhosphoruswasgivenimmediatelyas
Phosphoruspathogeneticsymptomsweresimilartothepatientsnewandtroublesomesymptomsand
knowntoantidotetheactionofIodum.Afterwards,thechroniccasewasretakenandabetterindicated

inbigjumps.Evenifappliedinwaterysolutionandmodifieddoses,theremedyisonlytoberepeatedas
longasnonewsymptomsappear,andnotmechanically!(Dissimilaraggravationwithnew,dangerousand
troublesomesymptoms.)
2.Aboy,age3,receivedPhosphorus200Cinwaterysolutionforacuterespiratoryailmentswithsymptoms
thatindicatedthisremedy.Aftertwohourstheremedywasrepeatedwhichcausedthecoughtogetworse.
Asnofurther,newsymptomsdevelopedandtheaggravationwasnottoosevere,theremedywas

Conclusion

Thedifferentformsofaggravationdemonstratethatthecorrectchoiceoftheremedy,potencyanddoseare
importantinthetreatmentofpatients.Anyaggravationistobeavoided,asitdelaysorevenpreventsthecure.
Ideally,thepatientdoesnotaggravate,orexperiencesonlyaslighthomeopathicaggravation,followedbysteady
improvementthatfollowsHeringsrule.Inpracticethisisnotalwayspossibletoachieve.However,correct
