LCARS Launch Center

Left Start Pane

The buttons on the left pane allow for launching of both LCARS Vexillum and LCARS Prolixus. It
also contains buttons for launching additional LCARS 47 programs such as Galaxiae, Anticuus,
HaSta, Imperium, Duplex Carbasa, and Alvearium. Gold version numbers denote a complete
application. Orange version numbers indicate they are currently in development (beta release)
and are available for preview purposes. Brown version numbers refer to programs that are
currently in the alpha testing phase.

Above the pane, the LCARS 47 button will take you to the LCARS 47 homepage where support
is available. The button to the right allows the LaunchCenter to be set to full screen. To exit full
screen, hit Escape.

Right Configuration Pane

The right configuration pane allows for viewing system configuration such as the ships name
and registry number. From here you can launch the Master Control Panel as well as the
VoiceCommand application.

The buttons to the top of the pane allow you to cycle between the configuration for each
application, view system information, access the comm system and exit the application.

The 'SYSTEM INFORMATION' button displays simple information regarding the LCARS Launch
centre and is intended for simple information purposes only.

The COMM button allows access to LCARS 47's inbuilt communications screen. This is simply a
screen allowing users to view videos regarding LCARS status updates and other relevant news.

Once the connection has been established (Internet connection required) click the 'EST LINK'
button to start the video. The 'SUSPEND' button will pause the video, to resume, press the 'EST
LINK' button again. 'TERMINATE LINK' will stop playback.

Master Control Panel

The Master Control Panel (MCP) allows for easy customization of mission overview, mission
logs, and personnel database modules, as well as customization of the ship name and
registration number.

Main Window
Once started, the MCP will display a
welcome screen. Along the top, the
exit button will return you to the
main MCP screen, where you can
then exit the program using the
Close button in the right hand
bottom corner.

In the bottom left corner is the

program version. This is useful to
ensure you have the latest version
of the program installed.

Champaign
The Champaign button allows
editing of the ship name and
registration number for the ship in
all LCARS 47 Platforms.

On the left side of the screen are

options for editing non Starfleet ship
configurations such as Klingon
HaSta, where the difference to the
Starfleet registry number is the
commanding house name. Below
that is the vessel designation for
Imperium, Alvearium, and Duplex Carbasa. These have a similar registry difference, Alvearium
has unimatrix, and Duplex Carbasa has order.

Mission Overview
Mission Overview allows
customization of the ship's current
assignment or mission. Subject
headers are in gold and editable
text can be changed by the user.

Editing the sections can be done by

clicking on the text you want to
change, deleting the current entry
and entering new text. Once you
have made all of the changes you
want to make click the save button
on the right hand side.

Mission Logs
Mission Logs is the section where
log entries can be made.

They are listed by entry date and

are categorized by three log types,
mission log, supplemental, and
personal.

Enter the stardate, then the author

of the log entry, the type of entry,
and then you can start entering the
main body of information contained
in the log itself.

On the right hand side of the screen the prev and next buttons move through the list as
indicated, and the save button commits the changes made to the system.

6 LCARS 47 | Sollertia Software

www.LCARS47.com System Build 6.3.0.0

Personnel Database
The Personnel DB button allows the
user to enter themselves into the
crew database. Name, Rank,
Identification (Serial Number),
Assignment, Date Of Birth, and
Species can all be edited. The
Biography can also be edited but in
the MCP there should not be any
new paragraphs made. After every
new line (Enter key press) Prolixus
will automatically display the data
as a new paragraph.

Voice Command
The VoiceCommand application
allows users to control LCARS 47
through the windows speech
recognition system. It contains the
same voice commands as previous
LCARS 47 releases.

Main Window
The main screen is styled like a Star Trek: Nemesis style door pad, and
activates and deactivates the voice command feature. Pressing the large
center button will act as a door chime. The 'ACTV' (activate) button just
underneath and to the left of the central button will start voice recognition
and display the 'DEAC' (deactivate) button which will stop voice
recognition. The 'INFO' button at the top displays a dialogue box detailing
simple information on the application.

The button on the bottom left will allow you to change the confidence
level needed for the program to execute a command. The higher the
level, the higher the confidence level needed. This is useful if you are in
a fairly noisy environment. The button on the bottom right will display the logger form.

Sollertia Software | LCARS 47 7

September 30, 2013 LCARS 47 User Manual

Logger Form
There is a secondary screen
containing a log of commands
recently used. This is useful if there
are any problems with the program
recognizing the command. This
feature is hidden and you can
access this button by pressing the
bottom left button on the voice
command main screen. It will
display information regarding the programs confidence in the command it received.

If the confidence is below the preset level, the command will not be triggered. It is
recommended that you use the Windows Speech Recognition Voice Training to help the
computer recognize your voice more clearly. This will in turn help the system increase its
confidence in understanding the commands you issue.

Note: The VoiceCommand creates a log file when it is used, and this file can become very large
if you use the VoiceCommand application regularly. It is recommended to purge this file
periodically to avoid issues with space.

The log file is located in "C:\Program Files\LCARS 47\fscommand\Config\VC", or "C:\Program

Files (x86)\LCARS 47\fscommand\Config\VC" for 64-bit systems.

8 LCARS 47 | Sollertia Software

www.LCARS47.com System Build 6.3.0.0

Voice Command
The VoiceCommand application supports Operating systems installed using the following
languages;

Chinese (PRC) zh-CN

Chinese (Taiwan) zh-TW
English (United States) en-US
English (Great Britian) en-UB
French (France) fr-FR
German (Germany) de-DE
Japanese (Japan) ja-JP
Spanish (Spain) es-ES

If you are not using one of these native languages (I.E. your operating system is not installed
using one of the languages above) the program may not work correctly, if at all.

Additional language support will be included at a later date.

To use the VoiceCommand application, you must speak the commands in English only
(regardless of the operating system language).

September 30, 2013 LCARS 47 User Manual

Champaign
Champaign started as an optional update whereby users could edit the name and registry of the
ship listed throughout the LCARS 47 suite. The feature is now fully integrated into LCARS 47.
As stated previously these details can be changed in the Master Control Panel accessible via
the LaunchCenter

Ship Name
Experiment with spacing in between the "USS" and the name of the Starship.

Ship Registry Suggestions

Avoid using registry numbers below 4 digits (unless using Galaxiae or Anticuus) and above 5
digits as there may be display anomalies when the registry exceeds the allotted placeholder
space.

Alternate Information
The Non-Federation ship sections do not use starship registries like Prolixus and Vexillum,
HaSta uses the Commanding house, Alvearium denotes the unimatrix for that ship designation,
Imperium does not have any registry information, and Duplex Carbasa denotes the Order within
the Cardasian military.

Drydock
Upon installing LCARS 47, you may notice that both Vexillum and Prolixus display MSD Load
Errors. This is because there is no schematic installed by default. To fix this, simply download
a Drydock Plugin from the LCARS downloads page (http://i.LCARS47.com/MSD).
