DAIRY OF PRODUCTION
LSD ASAP Rocky
 WEEK 1-
24th April 2017
Today I decided what genre I will be focusing on, the type of
music that I want to use and the characters I will be involving.
My intentions where to come up with a story line but I didnt
have time to complete that, and with being undecided on the
song I wasnt sure how to create a story line based around it. I
feel as though doing a music video will show my strengths and
Ill be able to show the audience my personality. I took a survey
on which idea I would do and from my two ideas got feedback
on what I can do to improve my ideas and what would be the
best option. I also created a mood board based around my final
idea. This involved bright colours, the creator of the song,
relationships and based it round the London location. This took
me to the end of day one.
25th April 2017
My intentions for today was to get as much of the pre
production done as possible, going through the list and ticking
off each one that needed to be covered. As I couldnt do my
mock up today, as I couldnt get to the location, or use my
characters I started doing secondary research on the target
audience and what sort of people would like my music video. I
also began to do the legal side of research, with the definitions
and finding out how many sales ASAP rockys album sold and
what difference this makes to his target audience.
26th April 2017
Today i did my research on the competitors I will be facing
during my music video productions, and ways in which I would
be able to over come in and grab the attention of my target
audience over artists similar. I also did research in the market
and put a list of different things i could to make my production
unique and different from the others.
27th April 2017

My intentions for today was to finish my plan and have a
seclude of everything that will take place whilst filming. I
completed the timescale, and began the legislation to how I
would have to go about doing my video. I also got the
confirmation from my characters and from Adam allowing the
week to borrow the camera from The College.
28th April 2017
My intentions for today was to complete the plan of my
production and have an exact clear idea of what is taking place
on the day of filming and how to be careful in the location that
we are filming in. I completed my aim by the end of the day.

 WEEK 2-

2nd May 2017

Today I finished my mock up video, added it to youtube and
gathered feedback on what I would improve and how I could
make my idea better. My intentions today were to finish my
planning for LO1 and I feel as though I completed that.
3rd-5th May 2017
My intentions of these days were to finish everything that
needed to be included in the pre-production booklet. I wanted
to add as much detail as I could to mean I get the best possible
grade. I feel as though I met this intention and did the booklet
to my highest standard.

 WEEK 3-

08TH May 2017

Today was the start of our pitch and Proposal. My intentions
where to get an idea on how the sell my production as well as I
can to the buyers and come up with a good idea in ways to do
this. I feel as though I achieved that today as I decided that I
will making my pitch in a video form, I think that this is a good
and interactive way to get my idea across in a way that is
different to everyone else.
09th May 2017
Today my intentions were to complete my proposal. Put in as
much detail as I can to sell my idea and put all of it in a formal,
presentable manner. I feel as though I achieved this and put as
much detail as I could to get across what my intentions are.
10th May 2017.
My intentions for today was to complete my pitch and write up
my script. I didnt complete all of this in one day but I did
manage to get footage for the cast and ask them questions on
why they feel they are good for the role, and what they can
bring to the production. This can be added to my pitch and
show the viewers who will be in my production on a more
interacting level.
11th May 2017
Today I completed my presentation for my pitch, making it very
visually appealing and continued to write my script for the
presentation next Wednesday. I also completed the feedback

that I got given for LO1. These were my intentions to complete
during the day and I feel as though I met the demands.

WEEK 4-

15th May 2017

Today was my pitch day at 10 past 1. In the morning, I did my
rehearsal, and attempted to improve my pitch to make it the
best I could. In the rehearsal, it came to 11 minutes long. I
hoped to include all the details needed to create the best
production. In my pitch today it was 15 minutes long. This
included James and Adam asking me questions and me selling
my ideas to them.
16th May 2017
Today my intentions were to start the pre-production booklet
that was set. I started it but didnt get very far. This is because I
wanted to involve enough information to get the best grade
possible.
17th and 18th May 2017
On both of these days, I got a better idea of what will actually
happen on the day of production. This was decided on the 17th
where me and the crew decide what is best for them and what
they feel comfortable in doing. This allowed it that I could draw
a good storyboard, and start the pre production booklet. I didnt
manage the finish the whole production booklet but will be
done by the following week.
19th May 2017
Today the objectives were to continue through the pre
production booklet, this involved drawing a detailed storyboard,
and adding in the detail of what props I will be using and how.

This meant that I was almost finished with the booklet and
could move onto the next task.

WEEK 5

22Nd May 2017

Today consisted of helping other people that required me in
their productions, as I had finished the pre-production booklet
before the week started. This meant that I helped out with the
people in my classs production and was helpful in what they
required me to do.
23rd May 2017
Today consisted of doing feedback on the work I have
completed so far, making it better and pushing my grade to
distinction standard.
24th May 2017- 26th May 2017
These few days consisted of getting the props needed for my
production, and making sure everything was in place for the
filming days, I continued to do the installation project work and
helped other people in their productions.

 WEEK 6

29th May 2017-

Today was the first day of my filming. Sadly my actors were
unable to do it for certain personal reasons which meant I had
to use my back up actors. This involved going up to London and
filming the location and using them going on a date to get food.
We were unable to do this at night time due to the trains but
were able to take the footage when it was a nice light day. This
meant I was able gather all the footage I needed of the two of
them together. This took two hours to film, and I feel as though
I gathered all the work that I needed.
30th May 2017-
This involved me filming shane by himself, singing into the
camera, and it was infront of a green screen. This means I will
be able to use other footage for behind him, and have a better
creative freedom with what footage is used, to make it look like
the actual music video. This didnt take too long as I only
wanted a small section of Shane singing by himself.
31st May 2017-
This is where I filmed Victoria doing the first scene by herself.
This was the footage of her doing her make up, and acted as

though the footage was taken by Shane. It was as though she
was getting ready to go meet shane. The lighting worked very
well and helped put as much detail on the action she was
doing. This took 2 hours to do, as I wanted to get as much
footage as possible to make it look as though she was doing her
make up seriously, and carrying out the act she would actually
be doing, rather than faking it. I took it from different angles
and used the technique of tracking which means it looked more
interesting.
This was all the filming that I needed to carry out for the music
video.

WEEK 7

5TH June 2017-

Today was the day that I started to edit my footage. I started
with the first scene, which took a while as I wanted it to look as
though it was in stop motion, which meant each clip was very
short, but had to work in time with the song. I also finished all
pre planning and listed each problem I had to overcome during
the filming days.
6th June 2017-
Today I changed some filming with Shane as I felt like the lip
singing could be better. This took the morning of my lessons to
do, and edited it in the afternoon which meant I finished editing
on this Tuesday. All I needed to gather was feedback from my
peers in ways in which I could improve my production.
7th-9th June 2017-

This was the time I spent going over all my work for this unit
and finishing everything that needed to be done.
9th June 2017
Deadline day, finished and uploaded everything.
