CRETACEOUS PORPHYRY BELT
(PUQUIO AND ZAFRANAL SUB-
BELTS)

The Puquio sub-belt has small porphyry

systems.

This sub-belt shows eroded systems,

exhibiting potassic alteration with low
grade hypogene copper mineralization
(< 0.3 % Cu).

The Zafranal sub-belt is more important

with more and larger identified porphyry
systems.

These systems show large alteration

footprints associated with phyllic
alteration and has potential for
supergene copper enrichment.
(Fernando Rivera et al., 2008)
