The Fall of Nutritional Freedom
After the devastating crop failure of
2100, the government was forced to create
an alternative solution to fulfill people's
dietary needs. In the military a MRE pill has
been used for just over 30 years to partially
give soldiers the nutrition they require in
battle. Attempting to further adapt this pill
for everyday use the government hired
scientists and nutritionists for Project
PRE. Scientists worked vigorously to
formulate a pill that could completely
supplement a person's daily nutritional
values. In order to feed the public the
government fabricated a pill knows as
GFU, the acronym meaning Good For
You.
With a name that is so
straightforward, we're left to question how
good this chemical creation really is for your
body. There could be side effects that could

be within the pill that people are completely
unaware of. Almost all vaccinations and
chemical creations have been flawed during
their beginning stages of production.
However, without food the government is
beginning to dispense the pill for the public.
Under such immediate conditions it is
almost a certainty that there will be mild to
severe side effects of GFU.
With this new food source being
mass manufactured by the government, it
leaves the government with the power to
feed or not feed certain populations. Placing
such power in the hands of just the
government is dangerous and most likely
detrimental in the long haul for our society.
With the rate of unemployment increasing
after the blight it is unsettling to recognize
that the government can not house enough

jobs to defeat unemployment, leaving a
population to starve in the wake of job loss.
Under this new creation, the people
of the U.S. are forced to work certain jobs in
order to obtain the pill and survive. With an
essentially dystopian society the people are
going to be forced to perform a job that
could be potentially dangerous or life
threatening.
The new pill manufacturing creates a
society that is too heavily controlled by the
government and its officials. As a society it
is wrong to be completely dependent on a
food source that only the government can
provide. This new system limits the right of
freedom by threatening the people in order
to have work done for the government.
Freedom is the gateway of all creative and
individualistic thinking that occurs within
society, leaving people deprived of
individuality. In such a world, people will
lose their touch with their imaginative and
innovative mentality. The right side of the
brain is in control of creativity, musical
awareness, three dimensional interpretation,
art awareness, and simple guessing. By
prohibiting an individual to navigate their
own destiny, it causes a loss of connectivity
to the right side of your brain, producing an
unimaginative society.
Under this new social setup, children
will be placed in the workforce at a young
age and be forced to excel in a specific job


or activity without ever being introduced to
the idea of being able to perform a different
task. This leaves the future generation to
become potentially a free slave controlled
by an overly authoritative government.
Civilians should not be expected to do any
job that the government wants them to
because it limits creativity within the
society.

order to be completely safe the government
should release the chemical solution that the
pill is made of. If the public was aware of
the ingredients in the pill more people would
be trustworthy of consuming such an
unusual source of nutrition.
If we want the society to overcome
starvation as a whole, the pill should be a
monopolized product sold across many
manufacturers in order to be fairly
distributed to the public. The government
should not control the peoples only food
source. Instead, GFU should be sold by
industries in order to create a less powerful
government.

Also, it is an issue of safety,

depending on the type of job that the
government assigns an individual to. Many
jobs could be dangerous depending on age,
gender, and health conditions. The
government states that the pill is the
solution to starvation because people can
have sufficient amounts of food from one
pill. However, this power being solely
placed in the government is not the solution
because anyone who disobeys the
government does not recover the pill,
