How can I identify the master board on the pLAN network?
ANSWER
Based on the pLAN address, the pLAN address of the Master board is always 1.

2. QUESTION
Can the board pCO* with standard Carel applications be connected via Ethernet?
ANSWER
Yes, using pCOWeb card.

3. QUESTION
Can the pCO* be connected to a supervisor?
ANSWER
Yes, using serial card PCOS004850.

4. QUESTION
When using a Master-Slave configuration (more than 1 controller in pLAN network), is enough to install only a BMS
optional card in the Master controller, for sending all the network database?
ANSWER
No, the BMS optional card must be installed on all the controllers present in the network because the Master one sends
via BMS card only its own variables database.

5. QUESTION
FLSTDmMCDE: what configuration can I use for air-to-water chillers/heat pumps two compressors in just one circuit?
ANSWER
Unit type 2.

6. QUESTION
FLSTDmMSBE/FLSTDmMCDE: which EVD driver can manage the application?
ANSWER
EVD200 in pLAN or EVD Evolution in stand-alone mode.

FLSTDmMSBE: if at the end of pump down the minimum pressure switch is reset due to an increase in pressure as a
result of leaks or re-evaporation of refrigerant, is the compressor restarted to bring back down the suction pressure or
does it stay off until next called by the temperature control unit?
ANSWER
Compressor re-start in the event of valve leaks is not envisaged and consequently the compressor stays off until next
temperature request.

FLSTDmMSBE/FLSTDmMCDE: I want to associate the pCO Master to driver 1 and the pCO Slave to driver 2, how do I do
this?
ANSWER
The pCO* boards must have addresses from 1 to 4, where the unit assigned as Master is automatically the unit with
pLAN address 1.
The drivers can have addresses from 5 to 12, according to the following criterion:
Addresses 5-7-9-11 can be set on drivers for chiller-only operation, or chiller/heat pump operation in the event of
bidirectional valves;
Addresses 6-8-10-12 can be set on drivers for heat pump operation only, when the valve is not bidirectional.
The drivers with addresses 5-6 refer to the pCO board with address 1 (Master);
The drivers with addresses 7-8 refer to the pCO board with address 2 (Slave 1);
The drivers with addresses 9-10 refer to the pCO board with address 3 (Slave 2);
The drivers with addresses 11-12 refer to the pCO board with address 4 (Slave 3).

9. QUESTION
FLSTDmAHUE: how does the auxiliary control loop work?
ANSWER
It is a relay that can operate in direct or reverse mode based on the selected probe.

10. QUESTION
FLSTDmCZ0E: does rotation between units need to be set on all boards?
ANSWER
No, only on the Master board.

11. QUESTION
FLSTDmCZ0E: with pLAN connection for running/standby management or Master control, does the PCO100CLK0 card
also need to be used?
ANSWER
The optional card PCO100CLK0 is only needed if the type of rotation is set to "time bands".
Instead, for timed rotation it is not needed because the time between one rotation and the next is counted by an
internal timer.

12. QUESTION
FLSTDmMSBE: can the shutdown of the compressor on reaching the set point or from On/Off control be delayed, so as
to empty the gas from the circuit?
ANSWER
Yes, enabling the pump-down function.

13. QUESTION
FLSTDmMCDE: can the software be installed on the large board?
ANSWER
Yes, but the additional outputs will not be used.

14. QUESTION
FLSTDmMSBE: what is the maximum number of compressors that can be connected?
ANSWER
A maximum of 4, one for each board/circuit.

FLSTDmMSBE: can I connect 5 boards via pLAN to have a backup Master?
ANSWER
No, because the software can manage a maximum of 4 boards over the pLAN.

FLSTDmAHUA: can a digital output (relay) be used to control the cooling stage software?
ANSWER
Yes, Enabling a digital output It on screen J9 select the position of the cooling status output.
Another possibility is to set the direct expansion coil on screen Cj select the device used to control the cooling coil in
order to have up to 3 cooling stages.

FLSTDmAHUA: can the mixed coil be used for heating/cooling, changing the operating by digital input?
ANSWER
Yes, cooling/heating mode can be changed using the parameters on screen C3 where the changeover by digital input
can be set.

18. QUESTION
FLSTDmMCDE: second pump can be activated simultaneously with the main one?
ANSWER
No, only in burst mode or backup one

FLSTDmMSBE: When Slave unit is in OFF mode by button it doesnt switch off the compressor
ANSWER
Problem of release 2.6: upgrade the SW to release 2.8 or higher

The device is enabled with Bitzer compressors only

21. QUESTION
FLSTDmMSBE: Does it possible to disable increase of compressor power function (mask Td, time for reaching
maximum power and time for reaching minimum power)?
ANSWER
No, because it is essential to calculate the pulses of the opening/closing of the drawer
As there is no acquisition regarding the absolute position of the compressor's capacity control valve, and, consequently,
as no direct verification is possible of the power percentage input in the circuit, a time based control is run. With this
control, when a set time threshold is reached, the compressor is considered fully charged/discharged and thus control of
the capacity control impulses is suspended.
In case set to zero (0) time for reaching maximum power, set a timing on time for reaching minimum power so as to
ensure the initial decreasing.

22. QUESTION
FLSTDmMSBE: Does it possible to use a Slave board without evaporator probe, avoiding to have antifreeze alarm?
ANSWER
No, is not possible

23. QUESTION
FLSTDmMCDE: I am not able to reach Compensat. temp. setpoint enable mask (Pc)

You have to enable external temperature probe

FLSTDmMCDE: on Slave board appears operating hours pump alarm (AL040) but is not possible to reset it

 On Slave board is not present the reset mask so is suggested to set it as Master, reset operating hours so reconfigure it
as Slave

Check if the air quality control is enabled on Cb mask

FLSTDMSDE: which Bios I have to use with a pCO3 board?
ANSWER
The SW is not certified for pCO3 board so any Bios is used it has to be validated before the installation on field
