Unit 5 Assignment 4

I am going to start assignment 4- Unit 5, this will give me the initiative to complete my work.
The overall performance is g

Relationship with client

Liaison with client:

Discussions with client:

Every time I had a discussion with my client, I would turn this into a client brief. My client
brief can be quite complexed.
Here is an example of what I have done for this on Unit 54, my client brief gives clear
information in which and what I need to do, and this will give me guidance and the
knowhow on what I will need to do for this assignment.

Unit 54 Graphics for Print Assignment 2

Client meeting

First, I am going to gather some instructions from my peer I have done this below:

- I am working for a group/band called the Pixels.

- I have already the web banner and now I am going to create some web materials.

- The next thing I need to do is create a Logo for the band the pixels.
- Design the logo on a storyboard.

- Create an A3 poster

- Once the poster is created, I need to make sure it is the right size and utilize the logo.

- Poster must include tour dates and tour venues.

- Check the size on the CD cover and make sure it is the right one; it needs to be a duel
case. *Must include logo*

- I will need to research the information that needs to go onto the CD cover, e.g. ratings,
song titles.

- Quality of the graphics is what the client is looking for.

- The softwares I can use are, Photoshop, Premiere and Paint.net.

As I did my client liaison in a Diary based this enabled me to receive some good feedback.
Dealing with difficulties or complaints:
Revisions to brief:
Revisions to plan:

Format
Evidence needed for a written report/podcast/PPT/Pitch:
For this particular proposal, I have covered some good research towards this. I have covered
things from Legal and Ethical and all things included to the production and makings of my
energy drink, which is what I did for this assignment, on this occasion I have learnt things
through the assignment, things like whats in the can, where the can was most sold, what
kind of advertisement there was and other formats, on this occasion I have also done a
brainstorm for what names I could chose for the energy drink, this enabled me to choose
the planning for this particular energy drink. I feel that my proposal gave me great
knowledge and guidance. I felt that I have done well in this and have used images to
represent exactly what I have done, this meant that overall I was pleased with what I had
done.

Complaints Experienced
Legal:
Legal and ethical considerations and codes of practice

Above is my legal and ethical considerations, as you can see on the images above. I have a
detailed legal and ethical, which includes copyright and some codes of practice. On this
assignment as it asked me to do the legal and ethical considerations, I was able to learn
quite a bit about this. You can see the evidence above of exactly what I have done for this
particular assignment. The one above is Unit 34, and the one below is Unit 62, as you can
see though, this has a similar part to Unit 34 but I have included web and TV, as it is relevant
to this particular bit.
For this particular thing, I actually followed the correct legalisation; this gave me the
initiative to continue my work to a high standard.
Management
Time management and working to agreed timescales:

Time management

Here is my ILP
for Unit 5. First
for this
particular task, I
have to meet up
with my client
and start a client meeting, once I have done this, I will be able to make this into a
documentation and then begin the start of my proposal. I will initially do my research on
format and software and then produce a specification, which will take me up to 3 hours, and
once I have done this, I will begin to start task five, task five will enable me to develop
designs and ideas for animation, which on this occasion will be The Pixels, in addition to
this I will need Storyboards and mood boards with dope sheets and my timings so that my
product will be very similar to my overall animation. Once I have done all this, this will mean
that I can complete this up to a high standard all the way up until the deadline. Eventually I
will be able to complete the Unit, which is Unit 34. Below I will be showing you, everything
that I have done for this unit as you will be able to clearly see, in addition to this, I will use
illustrations.

Communication skills:
For my employer expectations, I needed to cover these particular headings Maths, English,
and I.C.T, commutations, punctual; and legal and ethical. All these headings are things that
you would need to be employed, so they are all relevant and give us the basic knowledge
towards the skills that we will need. I have also added a conclusion on the employer
expectations, as I felt that this was necessary.

Feedback
From peers:
Feedback from peers/questionnaires
As my feedback was quite broad, this meant that I could portray my product in the best way
possible, the feedback from my peers was very understandable and almost all of the
feedback was very good, the questionnaires enabled me to ask questions that I wanted to
aim my feedback at, so that my work could be very good. Below, you can see an example for
the questionnaire that I have done in this particular assignment.

Questionnaire-statically Analysis.
I am going to do a statically analysis, talking about the feedback that I have
had from my peers, now that I have done 10 questions- I am going to do pie
charts to show this information, I will also do a conclusion to end the analysis,
all work that I have done is feedback/results from my peers, so I will ensure
that I view my product and make any changes necessary.
Q1- How was my Animation of Healthy foods good? Brilliant Ok Terrible
From my feedback, I have found out that 70% said that my product was Brilliant. With 30%
saying Ok and 0 people saying that It was Terrible. From my feedback, I am pleased with
my overall feedback, so I am going to talk to my client to see if there is anything that needed
changing regarding How was my TV Ident, so that she is pleased overall.

Q2- How was my animation? Clear and Presentable Boring - Amazing

From my feedback, I have found out that 80% said that my product was Clear and
Presentable, 0% said It was Boring and 20% said that It was Amazing. Once again, I am
pleased with the feedback and will contact my client for further details.
Clear/Presentable Boring Amazing

Q3- Does my product work well with my healthy eating campaign animation.
Yes- No
For this particular question, I have decided that due to 100% people saying that it was clear
and presentable, I am not going to produce a Chart, and however, I am pleased with the
feedback.

Conclusion In conclusion, from all the questions and so on, I believe that my work has
been harshly evaluated, as well as fair. I have covered all questions and have received 82%
of the feedback as positive feedback as well as excellent feedback. In addition to this the
17% said that my work required improvement and the negative minority of 1% said it was
awful, this feedback isnt welcomed but as this is a conclusion, I feel I will need to continue
to carry on with my work. The questions set out was clear and professional and most of my
work was good and in some parts very good, apart from the extremely small minority.

As you can see above, this questionnaire and the statistical evidence, enables me to read
feedback and then evaluate my work through this, overall my work can be seen statically. A
questionnaire is a research instrument consisting of a series of questions and other prompts
for gathering information from respondents. Although they are often designed for statistical
analysis of the responses, this is not always the case. The Statistical Society of London
invented the questionnaire. Questionnaires have advantages over some other types of
surveys in that they are cheap, do not require as much effort from the questioner as verbal
or telephone surveys, and often have standardized answers that make it simple to compile
data. However, such standardized answers may frustrate users. Questionnaires are also
sharply limited by the fact that respondents must be able to read the questions and respond
to them. Thus, for some demographic groups conducting a survey by questionnaire may not
be concrete. Therefore, I feel that this is a good process of taking feedback and evidence,
which will guide me towards this in the overall work in a good way.

Final/overall conclusions/Evaluations:

Evaluation

Effectiveness

Extent to which brief has been realised

I have had to stick to the brief for this particular task. I have looked at the assignment brief precisely to the
headings this enables me to follow step by step headings so that I know exactly what I am going to do.

Use of appropriate methods of techniques

As this was a big task and I was given lots to do, I had to use different technique methods so that I could finish
the work on time as well as using these techniques efficiently.

Level of professional achieved

On this task, as I was creating something for someone else I wanted to make it as professional looking as
possible, by this I mean that my product was creating to the highest standard possible and professional looking
so that this would create a true representation for the band The Pixels.
What message your final versions communicates

The final message that I wanted to create was a good graphics that were simple but effective but shows a good
final message towards the band. I wanted to portray the band towards their theme which is indie rock on this
occasion, as the band were also based in Manchester then I wanted to include this theme, so I placed a
Manchester based background, in the logo, A3 poster as well as CD Cover. This enabled me link the theme of
the band towards the target audience and so on.

Problems solving

I had some problems on Photoshop, however I got around them by asking my peers In terms of what to do,
and they told me how to select the image and make it larger as my graphics were too small. The term problem
solving is used in many disciplines, sometimes with different perspectives, and often with different
terminologies. For instance, it is a mental process in psychology and a computerized process in computer
science. Problems can also be classified into two different types from which appropriate solutions are to be
made. Ill-defined problems are those that do not have clear goals, solution paths, or expected solution. Well-
defined problems have specific goals, clearly defined solution paths, and clear expected solutions.

Skill development

Personally, my skills are based in the actual designing stage, this stage enables me to be creative and design
anything that I want to design, and therefore this gave me the initiative to create complexed work to a high
standard when it came to actually creating the graphics using Photoshop, as you can see below on Areas for
development this was something that I struggled with but going back to the skills, the designs turned out to
be very good and were well finished and professional looking because I could hand-draw them and make them
as entertaining as possible but at the same time being vigilant.
Areas for development

As this particular task was aimed mostly at graphics this meant that I had to use Photoshop for the majority of
this task, however, as Photoshop is a very complexed site then this led to areas for development, by this, I
meant that some things on Photoshop were quite tough to get my head around, however these were all
corrected and learnt so that I could have some areas for development but at the same time, have some room
for improvement.

Sources of information

Self-evaluation

Evaluating myself is not something I like doing, however my self-evaluation on this task is going over the
process is based off how successful or unsuccessful on this occasion, I felt that I was successful in terms of my
planning, notes, production logs. Personally, my skills are based in the actual designing stage, this stage
enables me to be creative and design anything that I want to design, and therefore this gave me the initiative
to create complexed work to a high standard when it came to actually creating the graphics using Photoshop,
as you can see below on Areas for development this was something that I struggled with but going back to

Production Process
Pre-production Planning, preparation

The planning was mainly done on the ILP, the Individual learning plan keeps you right up date with everything
that you need to do. This enables you to know exactly where youre up too.

Production, time management

Time management was something that I wanted to really zone in on to make sure that I complete my work in
perfect time; my ILP will also give me a sort of time zone. Time management is the process of planning and
exercising conscious control over the amount of time spent on specific activities - especially to increase
effectiveness, efficiency or productivity. It is a meta-activity with the goal to maximize the overall benefit of a
set of other activities within the boundary condition of a limited amount of time, as time itself cannot be
managed because it is fixed. A range of skills, tools, may aid time management and techniques used to manage
time when accomplishing specific tasks, projects, and goals complying with a due date. Initially, time
management referred to just business or work activities, but eventually the term broadened to include
personal activities as well. A time management system is a designed combination of processes, tools,
techniques, and methods. Time management is usually a necessity in any project development as it
determines the project completion time and scope.

Monitoring work in progress

When monitoring my work in progress, this enabled me to see exactly where I was up to. I realised that
looking at my progress has given the initiative to continue monitoring my work. Work in progress, sometimes
referred to as work in process, is the sum of all costs put into the production process to manufacture products
that are partially completed. work in progress refers to raw materials, labour and overhead costs incurred for
products that are at various stages of the production process.

Technical competencies

Technically I felt that my work was spot on. As I really focused on the technical competencies. This was great
because it enabled me to complete my work precisely. Functional or Technical Competencies Functional
Competencies relate to functions, processes, and roles within the organisation and include the knowledge of,
and skill in the exercise of, practices required for successful accomplishment of a specific job or task.
Creative ability

On this particular task, this enabled me to be creative and to finish my work up to a high standard, the creative
ability meant that I could work to the best of my ability through my creativeness. Creativity ability is the skill
and talent to use our imagination to create and solve. A better artist is creative. However, you do not have to
be an artist to be creative.

Own work

All of this work was done through my own work and nothing was plagiarised, I used Photoshop to create
mainly all of my work and used other sites for the text, however, when creating this, this meant that I could
complete my work.

Finished Production

Compared with original intentions

My finished product compared with original intentions, is completely the same as my specification. This has
meant that the overall result is successful. If you look at my storyboards and my finished product on
Photoshop, you will be able to see there is little difference, which on reflection is very good.

Appropriateness to audience

On this particular task, the appropriateness of the audience had to be done properly and looking at my
finished product and my target audience that I wanted to aim at, I feel that I have done this. The
"appropriateness" of the audience is based on the rating of the movie before which the trailer appears. They
would not tend to show a trailer for an R-rated horror movie before a G-rated animated feature. They try to
put trailers on movies that are similar, if not in content, then in tone or, at the very least, rating. Even in
trailers for R-rated films, the content of the trailer itself is going to be PG-rated, at worst. The exception is the
"Red Band" trailer. These may have PG-13-ish content like stronger language, more graphic violence and very
brief nudity. Most trailers are green band. That is why the screen is green on the warning. There should be
anything too strong on a green band trailer, but you would be surprised at what people find offensive.
Alternatively, maybe you would not
Technical qualities

The technical qualities that I have used are actually quite broad. What are 'Technical Skills?' Technical qualities
are the knowledge and abilities needed to accomplish mathematical, engineering, scientific or computer-
related duties, as well as other specific tasks relating to technology. Those with technical skills are often
referred to as technicians, such as audio technicians, electronics technicians or engineering technicians.
Technical skills can also refer to the ability of a certain type of stock trader who uses technical analysis to buy
and sell stocks.

Aesthetic qualities

The Aesthetic qualities that I have used are actually quite broad. It is generally, although not universally,
agreed among philosophers that there is an important distinction to be drawn between the aesthetic qualities
of objects, especially art objects, and their no aesthetic qualities: between being serene, stunning, or grating,
and being square, in the key of A-minor, or weighing seven pounds. The concept of an aesthetic quality is a
philosophical one, not in general use, but aestheticians appeal to it in clarifying the practice of art criticism,
justifying aesthetic judgments, and evaluating artworks.

Finished Product

Compared with original intentions:

Compared with original intentions, I felt that my work was very similar to my original intentions, this meant
that I could finish my work off efficiently as well as making little changes, due to this I felt that overall my
product really worked out and I felt that I could complete my work on time due to not making lots of changes
which would have effectively made me late when meeting the deadline.

Appropriateness to audience: Once again, I felt that this was something that I excelled in, because my
appropriateness towards an audience is very correct and precise. Therefore, I feel that I have

Content and style

The content and style, I wanted to keep it simple but effective. Content is what you are writing about the
information you are trying to convey or plot of the story you are telling. Style is the way in which you present
that information your word choice, organization, and other details of the writing. In publishing, art, and
communication, content is the information and experiences that are directed towards an end-user or
audience. Content is something that is to be expressed through some medium, as speech, writing or any of
various arts. Content can be delivered via many different media including the Internet, television, audio CDs,
books, magazines, and live events, such as conferences and stage performances.
