Three RPS Local Community Partners
Named to the 2017 Virginia School
Boards Association Business Honor Roll
In coordination with the Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA),
the Richmond Public School Board has named Altria, Capital One and
the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond to the 2017 VSBA Business Ho-
nor Roll for their outstanding support of Richmond Public Schools. All
three community partners were recognized during a school board meet-
ing held on Monday, May 15, 2017. Local businesses and community
partners have the power to shape community attitudes about public
schools so the VSBA Business Honor Roll is an opportunity for school
divisions to recognize local businesses for their invaluable support, es-
pecially as schools face increasing budget uncertainty. They play a key

Forks in the Road by Dianne Wilmore My Trip to GREECE

Dear Northside Readers: This past May I had an awe-
some opportunity to visit Greece. After I recovered from
the jetlag, what an experience! We spent several days at
a golf resort which was located on a mountainside with a
beautiful landscape.
I must tell you, every day was a different adventure! If
we werent at a museum or by the waterside, we were
eating some great food. I had a combination of fantastic
lamb dishes and wonderful Greek salads with an Ouzo,
the official drink of Greece.
I would encourage everyone to plan to take a trip (once a
year) someplace different. It will broaden your mind;
and it will provide a memory that you will never forget!
Until next time, smooches!
More Information: Greece (Country in the Balkans) is a
country in south-eastern Europe with thousands of is-
lands throughout the Aegean and Ionian seas. Influential
in ancient times, its often called the cradle of Western
civilization. Athens, its capital, retains landmarks in-
cluding the 5th-century B.C. Acropolis citadel with the
Parthenon temple. Greece is also known for its beautiful
beaches, from the black sands of Santorini to the party
resorts of Mykonos.
