task
Demonstrate that they can use criteria such as accuracy, reliability, currency and usefulness to select
information relevant to their inquiry
Show they can read and interpret data and features of Ariel maps including satellite with Google Maps and
Google Earth in the inquiry

for the students to access. which promotes their peer learning and mentoring.

Lesson Steps (Lesson content, structure, strategies & Key Questions):

Students already seated in pairs.

A demonstration of how the students are going to be using Google


15 mins Cardboard to explore their landforms in a virtual reality setting. This will Google Cardboard

enable them to be able to deepen their understanding on the specific Google Maps
landform they may be investigating.
- The use of Google Earth and Google Maps will be incorporated in the
Google Cardboard virtual reality tool.

As the students are exploring they are given a set of focus questions that
will allow them to complete the next task.

Focus Questions:
1) It is changing? If so why is it changing and what will it look like in the
near future?
2) How is it managed?
3) What is its significance? E.g. to Indigenous Australians?

15 mins As students gather their information and explore the virtual reality, they
will be reminded of the video presentation digital tool Slidely. Slidely:

-Students will be given time to create a video from what they see in the
virtual reality tool and then time to also incorporate it into their digital
poster.

10 Mins Students are to individually reflect on the lesson/ day 3 of the
investigation. Google Document:

1) Each reflection is to be dated and must answer the reflection
questions listed: What do you think you did well today?; what didnt
work?; What is something interesting I learnt today?; What is something I
want to find out more about?

2) This document is to shared with the teacher using the teachers email
address provided on the Investigation Weebly Website.
