I am writing in response to your posting for the music position posted in OLAS. I am a graduate
from the Crane School of Music with a major in music education and a minor in composition
with an instrumental focus on oboe. At this current time, I am searching for an elementary and/or
secondary school music education position.

I have been grateful to develop many skills as a student teacher in the North Babylon Schools. I
had the privilege to instruct K-5 general music and 4th and 5th grade band as well as instruct 6th-
8th grade band. My time in William E. DeLuca Jr. Elementary allowed me to provide a nurturing
and positive environment for fourteen of my general music classes; two of which consisted of
specialized classes for students with special needs. Being able to instruction 4th-8th band taught
me how to motivate and develop my students to their fullest potential within a range skill and
grade. The skills and experiences I have developed with the elementary and secondary students
make me qualified for this position.

I was given the opportunity to instruct elementary instrumentalists through my experience as a

teaching assistant in Northport-East Northports summer music program. I instructed lessons that
were provided for both group and individual instrumentalists: flute, saxophone, trombone, and
bassoon. I always advocated for my students to decide what they would work on in lessons that
they would be able to perform for their parents at the end of the program.
