OBJECTIVE :
It also supports new innovations in Class Room and Laboratory / Teaching Technology,
development of Lab Instructional Material and appropriate Technology to ensure that the
practical work and project work to be carried out by students is contemporary and suited to the
needs of the Industry.
ABSTRACT:
Power electronics studies the application of semiconductor devices to the conversion and
control of electrical energy. The field is driving an era of rapid change in all aspects of electrical
energy. The Power Electronics Laboratory course is one of very few offered at the
undergraduate. It seeks to enhance general material with practice and hands-on experience. The
laboratory course provides instruction in general lab practices, measurement methods, and with
the design and operation of several common circuits relevant to the field of power electronics. It
also provides experience with common components such as motors, batteries, magnetic devices,
and power semiconductors. The course has a significant design component.
Power electronics is a broad area. The power semiconductor devices can be turn on /off
by using different control techniques. In these proposals micro controller, PIC micro controllers,
DSP (Digital Signal Processing), VHDL (Veri-log High Decimal Language), FPGA (Field
Programmed Gate Array) techniques are referred.
