INTRODUCTION
The purpose of producing the report is to show the details of our assignment task on
interviewing the engineer. The task given has trained us to expose our skill on how to conduct
the interview, who had been interviewed, and limitation of the interview session itself. This
report is also to satisfy our objective where the objective were asking about the importance of
research skills among engineer graduates and to understand the opportunities and challenges
in R&D field for graduated engineers. Where from the interview session, every conversation
is recorded and we rewriting every single word out from the interviewee and made it in
transcription form. From the transcription made, we can find and analysing the requirement of
our objective.

ENGINEERS PROFILE
The engineer that has been the source of our data is Mr. IR Hj. Azalan Bin Ahmad, the Manager
(Technical-Electrical) of the Malaysia Transformer Manufacturing (MTM). He is 39 years old
and has been in the company for almost 14 years. He has received degree in Engineering
(Electrical Power) from University of Science Malaysia. After he graduated from the USM in
2000, he started as junior engineer at Japanese firm company. After three years in that
company, he has persuing his career in MTM Company starting from senior engineer and until
now that his position is Manager of Technical-Electrical, Engineering Department.
COMPANYS PROFILE
Malaysia Transformer Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd. (MTM) has positioned itself as One Stop
Solution Provider for the countrys electrical Transformer market. Established on 12 January
1977 and became a wholly owned subsidiary of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) in 2007. The
MTM Company offers wide and full range of products and services with high quality
Distribution Transformers up to 5000 kVA with maximum voltage of 33 kV and Power
Transformers up to 100 MVA with maximum voltage of 150 kV.
INTERVIEW
The interview was conducted on 23 March 2017 at 11.30 a.m. until 12.15 p.m. There are about
15 questions were asked and 10 out of 15 is the questions based on the objective requirement.
The types of question were asked is structured and semi-structured. Along the interview
session, all conversation is compiled by the voice and video recorder that from the both recorder
the transcription is produced.
FINDINGS
Based on our analysis, the result given from the interviewee only satisfy the first objective,
where the objective is to know the importance of research skills among the engineers graduate.
The objective is answered with satisfied by analyse 3 main points. Which is the main point is
answering what is the research skill that is important, why the research skills are important,
and how to develop those important skills. Below are the details of the 3 main points:

(ii) education institute should develop course or syllabus in research skills (line 82)
CONCLUSION
Overall of the interview, the transcription produced is more supporting on our first objective
which is to know the importance of research skills among the engineers graduate. During the interview
session the engineer were asked and answers all the 15 questions to satisfy our objective
requirement.The objective is satisfied by analyse the 3 terms of question which is why, what, and how
is the important of research skills among the engineers graduate.
