AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 4 OF
REGULATION ORDINANCE NO. 99-247, AS AMENDED BY
REGULATION ORDINANCE 00..143, AS AMENDED BY
REGULA'fIDN ORDINANCE NO. 2004-189, BY FIXING THE
FARE RATES OF ALL TRICYCLE UNITS OPERATING IN
THE CITY 0}' ILOILO

WHEREAS, pursuant to RA 7160 (Local Government Code of 1991, Art. 3,

Sec. 458, par. 3 (vi)), the Sangguniang Panlungsod, subject to the guidelines prescribed
by the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) shall regulate the
operation thereof within the territorial jurisdiction of the city, among others, viz:

b. To determine, fix prescribe or periodically adjust fares or rates for the service
provided in a zone after public hearing..,

WHEREAS, it is of public knowledge that tricycles have definite fare under

Regulation Ordinance No. 99-247 as amended;

WHEREAS, on July 18, 2005 a Petition was filed and received at the office of
Hon. Jose S. Espinosa ID by one of the petitioners Felicitas Hortillosa, SffiCAB-
Secretary noted by Romeo Roldan, SffiCAB-President, representing the SITICAB
Owners & Drivers Association, praying, among other, for the increase of fare rates of
tricycle operating in their area ofjurisdiction within the City of Iloilo;

WHEREAS, after a public hearing conducted by the Committee on Transporation,

Energy and Public Utilities last August 4, 2005 at 10:00 in the morning regarding their
petition for fare adjustment, it was agreed upon that fare rates on all tricyles shall be fixed
and increase;

NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of the City

of Iloilo that

Section I. - Section 4 of Regulation Ordinance No. 99-247, as amended by

Regulation Ordinance 00-143, as amended by Regulation Ordinance No. 2004-189, is
hereby amended, to read as follows:

"Section 4. FARE RATES - the following are the authorlzedfll1't!

TRJCYLCE

The regular fare for tricycle units plying their respective

authorized 1'0llte within the City of llollo shall be fixed at P6,50 per
passenger, from point oforigin to point ofdatlna.tlon.

Rates for Senior Citizen, students, and disabled persons shall

be at a dlscoantd.fare ofP5.21J per passenger."

Section 2. This ordinance amends Regulation Ordinance No. 99-247, as amended

by Regulation Ordinance No. 00-143, as amended by Regulation Ordinance No. 2004-
189, and repeals any and all ordinances inconsistent with the provisions herewith.
