the users current location for ALL
three realms (as you will soon
discover) .

In the public realm, usernames are

hidden for privacy (adjustable by
the user); public figures are the
exception. The spark button, which
allows you to make sparks, is
located at the bottom of the screen.
The title of the realm is located at
the top.

APP DESIGN NEWSFEED The main default screen of our app begins at the PUBLIC realm of the Newsfeed. As you can
see the bottom page tabs show the three different sharing realms (as circles).
Sparks are viewable according to
the users current location for ALL
three realms.

Private realm shows the the sparks

of those you follow. All names are
revealed. Public figures are
indicated by a golden star..

APP DESIGN NEWSFEED Sparks are shown in the Newsfeed. Users can play the particular spark and view the
corresponding descriptions in one glance. Users can scroll up and down to see more sparks.

In the personal realm, only the

sparks you have made will show.

left on a Spark to access the
option of saving the song into

APP DESIGN NEWSFEED - NAVIGATING ACROSS

The maximum capacity for spark
durations differs for the public - Location
realm and the other two realms. For - 100 letter description
example, the maximum capacity for
the longest spark duration time in - Duration
the public realm is limited as - Visual Synthesizer
opposed to the private and
personal realm which have no
capacity limitations.

Making a spark constitutes a simple

format. Users can easily see the
location in which they are leaving
the spark, a preview of the visual
synthesized music, an area for a
description, choice of sharing realm
and duration.

APP DESIGN LIBRARY The Library is where the user can enjoy their music. Songs saved from sparks and from Stream
are archived here. They follow a simple three tab structure with a different but equally dreamlike
gradient identity.

APP DESIGN REMINDERS Reminders in a form of push notifications alert the user either a particular anniversary of a Spark,
regardless of location, or a nostalgic memory of a Spark of a location the user is currently
revisiting. Users then have the option of leaving the Spark again.

am studying in Yonsei university in South

Today I had an oral exam on my History
and Science class and I got an A! I feel so
excited so I decided to go with Susan and
have some desserts, so we went at a very
popular place to enjoy our time and
desserts.
When we arrived there MUSE was playing
their Feeling Good song, I felt so happy
at that moment that I immediately went to
We Were Here app and shared my mood
through leaving a Spark at the place. Now,
my memories will be stored in the app! :)

Julie commemorates her good score by leaving the tune Feeling Good by Muse, which
was playing in the restaurant she visited. The song embodied her mood and she
immortalizes the sentiment by leaving it pinned to the restaurant.

Me and my friends went to celebrate to a

This is the last day of school... bar. I felt so emotional, because I was
happy and sad at the same moment. So, to
keep all the memories I left a Spark and
shared the songs that we listened to at
that moment. I will miss those guys so
much!

Julie celebrates the last day of school with her friends. The moment is bittersweet, and at
the same time freeing. A song that resonated with her time at University and her
friendships, Julie leaves the Spark It Aint Me at her school.

Going back home in Canada, missed my Today I went to my app and saw Susans
parents a lot! Sparks in the coffee shop we used to go
together. She was listening to a very sad
song by BigBang. She must be very sad
and lonely She told me she misses me, so
do I! That is so great that I can still share
the emotions of my friend even while being
far away.

Julie is separated from her good friend Susan. Yet by viewing Susans profile, Julie is able
to notice Susans mood by seeing the Sparks she has left. The most recent one is a sad
one in a cafe they both frequented together. Although apart, Julie is able to connect
wordlessly with Susan.

Its been 5 years since we graduated from
Yonsei. I completely forgot about that!!!
BUT! Today We Were Here reminded me
about that happy day! It showed me all the
Sparks left at that special day.
I remembered what feelings and emotions
I experienced at that time. That brought
me back to good times and precious
memories. Now I appreciate the app even
more!

Five years after her graduation, Julie is reminded by We Were Here of a very different time. Julie is taken to the Spark she had
left at that restaurant all those years ago. She listens to the song once more and the emotions and sentiments she had felt at
that time come rushing back. Julie is able to appreciate the valuable moment of her life once more and truly understand its
presence in the past. She sees how she has grown as a person and remembers that time fondly.
