Indicators of healthy outdoor environments.

Week 11 26-30 June The contemporary state of outdoor environments in Australia.

South West Coast Walk: 2 day excursions, 9am 3:10pm, 28th & 29th June)
TERM THREE.
Week 1 17 - 21July The importance of healthy outdoor environments for individual
physical and emotional wellbeing, and for the future of society.

Week 2 24 28July The potential impact on society and outdoor environments as a

result of land degradation, introduced species, climate change, urbanisation
and other significant threats.

Week 3 31 - 4 Aug School Assessment task. Outcome 1. SAC No. 1. Written analysis and
evaluation 40%

Week 4 7 - 11 Aug Plan for practical sustainable outdoor experiences - Ski trip
preparation clothing and equipment, snow and ski safety
Area of Study 2. Sustainable Outdoor Environments.
Conflicts of interest between people involved in uses of outdoor environments.

Week 5 14-18 Aug The methods used by individuals and groups to influence decisions about
the use of outdoor environments.
The decision-making processes followed by land managers and/or
governments or their agencies relating to conflicting interests over the use of
outdoor environments

Week 6 21-25 Aug Snow Trip: Departing Sunday 20th at 3:30pm returning
Tuesday 22nd at 10pm (approx.)
Assessment task. Outcome 2. SAC No. 2 A Case Study 30%

Week 7 28 - 1 Sep Management strategies and policies for achieving and

maintaining healthy and sustainable outdoor environments that may be
adopted by public and private land managers

Week 8 4 - 08 Sep Acts and conventions related to the management and

sustainability of outdoor environments.
Environment Management Centre visit (during double)

Week 9 11-15 Sep Actions undertaken to sustain healthy outdoor environments.

Week 10 18-22 Sep Assessment Task. Outcome 2. SAC No. 3 A Test 30%

Practice Exams during September holidays.
