3. Load the families in a project of Autodesk Revit
We advice you to choose and load ONLY the typology of spider that interesting since the different
series of spider, cross with the stirrups of support, they produce lots of combinations.
Being ALL the visible combinations in the menu to descent, to choose the type of spider/stirrup, a
number elevated complicates the choice of the correct piece.
Besides the bookstores are in evolution and soon could add the other one or be up-to-date: better to use
every time the last available release.
3.1 Copy & Glue

- to open the file .Rvt that contain the bookstores
- to select one or more unbroken fronts that corresponds to the typology that you want to use; base on
the type of upright, of support stirrup, of spider,
- to copy in the note with Ctrl-C or from the panel Appunti of the ribbon choose the control Copia.
- to make visible the project where you want to use the families or create a new
- to insert from the notes with Ctrl-V or ribbon Modifica > panel Appunti > Incolla or Incolla
Allineato...
Tips
The glued objects can be cancelled even immediately, the families are already loaded automatically
in the projects bookstore and ready to be use.
We recommend to cancel them afterwards since would be comfortable to use Copy ownership to
set quickly yours panels and uprights
After you have made the positioning with Incolla it would appear you a warning related to more
objects in the same position: it may ignore such objects because they only serve to the positioning of
the following spider & stirrup and however we are not calculated.

4. Use formality
For a correct positioning of all elements you are used two unbroken fronts posts parallels to certain
distance: this distance is place between the intern of the glass and the external of the uprights of
principal deck.
Then it will be an unbroken front with only glass part and an other with uprights and spiders complete
of stirrup.
Note
It is not possible use only one Unbroken front because the division bar (Grilles of broken front)
determine the centre of uprights and then we would not have necessary backings long the edges or
on the corners. They would be the panels with form not rectangular hold up by a structure to simple
rectangular stitch.
It is possible divide further the broken front of support planning one for only spiders, relevant stirrups
and one for only uprights.
It depends from the result that you want to get.
The uprights are interrupted to every subdivision of the grille then a possible their abacus doesnt bring
the real length of upright but a set of relative lengths to the different pieces that it compose its: with an
unbroken front dedicates only to uprights it is possible carry out the vertical division and then get the
real lengths of uprights.
Usually how to estimate it is enough to know the general weigh, then it doesnt matter that the uprights
are unites or to pieces. We would be have the necessity to verify the maximum lights to schedule the
union pieces among different uprights.
In the examples to follow we use two fronts and we do reference to the next pieces.
The uprights loaded are in the set C_ especially C_100x50mm Galvanized; the spiders of set OX_Vega
with flat stirrup; the glasses CGCT_ glass Blue 3cm.
The user can change the names of the types that you are used in the guide with the names of the types
that you really need.

4.1 Tracing front in glass
From the pannel Costruisci of the ribbon Inizio to choose the control Muro, as type to choose the
family unbroken front and the Generic type.
To trace out the front respecting the correct orientation inside/ outside; to regulate the height and the
possible offset from the standard.
From the panel Costruisci of the ribbon Inizio to choose the control Griglia di facciata and to divide
to pleasure the different glass panels that they compose the front, in vertical and horizontal sense.

Select the panels keeping pressed the key Ctrl to add to the selection; or select with a window the
whole front and use the filter; or press the key destro mouse on a selected panel Seleziona pannelli,
from the contextual menu and then Pannelli su host.
The ribbon Modifica Pannelli di facciata continua is activated, from the panel Elemento to choose
the type CGCT_ glass Blue 3cm from the menu to descent.

4.2 Support front

To copy the unbroken front, just create, inward of 40 cm: the distance that I have chosen toh ave
between the inside of the glass and uprights.
To select the front and to choose the control Copia from the Modifca from the ribbon Modifica muri
that it is started-up. To select the first point, of reference, and the following to 40 cm inward.
From the panel Costruisci from the ribbon Inizio to choose the control Griglia di facciata and to place
the other four divisions to 20 cm from the external edges.

To select all the panels of the support front (as for the glass panels) and to change the type of Pannello
FC NoSpider: Vuoto con target.
4.2.1 Uprights
From the ribbon Inizio, panel Costruisci, to choose the control Montante.

From the ribbon Posiziona Montante, that it is started up, panel Elemento to choose from the menu of
the types to descent Montante rettangolare: C_100x50mm Zincato.

4.2.2 Panels carry spider

To turn off temporarily the glass front using Nascondi/Isola temporaneamente from the status bar of
the sight: the lorgnettes.
To select in alternate system the panels carry spider: the key Tab will be essential to preselect the
single panel and the Ctrl to add it to the current selection.

4.2.3 Placing of the Spiders

To select one to the time the panels Pannello FC PortaSpider: Parametric just definite, to enter to
ownership of the petition or with the key destro mouse and then Propriet elemento... or with the
control Propriet elemento in the panel Elemento of the ribbon active.
To notice that the selected panel show the line to halo near its tops: they are equivalent to the position
number of the spider in the ownership of petition.

In the parameter 1 Tipo Spider to select the value Piatta-01_OX-Vega-1:
P15x9x1Zincata_R2PiAcciaio from the menu to descent.
It is the spider in high to the left that it must have an holy arm-in-arm.
Note
Piatta-01 is the type the of stirrup, adapts to a placing on a face of the upright to C as in our case.
OX-Vega-1 is the type of spider composed from the name of the set and the number of the arms, one
in our case.
P19x9x1Zincata are the dimension and the material of the stirrup.
R2PiAcciaio is a type of kneecap and the material, Piatte of 2 cm of ray in steel .

To regulate the parameter Distanza da Montante ad Interno Vetro to 40 cm and Vetro Spessore to 3cm
as the glass panels selected.
To conclude with Ok.
The spiders that we have selected, they are appeared you but the rotation is not right.
To select again the panel to return in the ownership of the petition.
The parameter 1 Nr Rotazioni da 90 set 1 as value.
The number show how many rotations have to carry out the arms of the spiders to be in the right
location respect to the glasses that they have to support.
Accept also the negative numbers realizing a counterclockwise rotation, if it overcomes the 4... the
round starts again... (5 is equivalent to 1, -1 to 3, ecc)

To carry out the regulations also for the other panels holdspider to get the correct spiders for the
correct support of the glasses.
With a little practice, the regulation of the rotation can be done at the same time to setting the type of
spider.
To open the glass front previously switch off using the lorgnettes.

4.2.4 Switching off the selection target

The panels for the placing of the spiders, Pannello FC NoSpider and Pannello FC PortaSpider, they
have the orage lines to allow the selection in easy mode.
They are different respectively with a cross that it is formed from diagonals and from a central square.
In print phase they are not necessary and they need switch off.
It can do in two ways:
-switching off the respective under category in the ownership of substitution graphic visibility of the
sight; this method influences only the current sight.
-acting on the special parameter of visibility in the data of the petition; this method influences all the
project.

4.2.5 Joints in silicone

To copy through notes from the project/bookshop also the front of the joints in silicone from 3x1cm.
From the ribbon Inizio, panel Costruisci, to select the control Montante. From the selector to choose
Montante rettandolare: Silicone nero 3x1cm.

From the panel Posizionamento of the ribbon to choose the option Tutte le linee di griglia and then to
select the glass front.
Or to go over with the single upright only the joint that interest you.
4.2.6 Abachi
In the file .Rvt that it contain the bookshop, they are fixed some types of abacuses regarding to the

uprights, to the spiders, to the glasses and also to the joints in silicone.
This sights (the abacuses are some sights) can be inserted in the current project and if necessary
changed for your need.
From the ribbon Inserisci, panel Importa, to choose the control Inserisci da file > Inserisci viste da
file, appear you a window for the selection of the file: to seek and open the l'.Rvt that it includes the
bookshops.
The file doesnt have opened normally but appear you a window to select, which of the sights that
include it, we want load.
The abacuses, already lay out, are of two types for every object: one with list all the petitions, and one
of summing up with only total or calculation.

When a sight has import from an other file, they come loaded only the planning of the sight and they

5. Personalizations
It is possible personalize the objects to get new combinations. It is possible intervene on the uprights
but also on the stirrups of berth and on the glasses of the panels over that on the used materials .
5.1 Personalize an upright

In the file .Rvt that it containt the bookshops, it has been created some typology of uprights with a
different undertypes that they define the dimensions and the materials.
To duplicate the type from the Browser di progetto clicking with the push button destro mouse and
then on the control Duplica from the contextual menu. To assign a new name and them, always with
the push button right mouse, Propriet... of the contextual menu.
To change the material that you have and/or the profile, changing the respective parameters.
It is possible define a personalized profile but you must respect the convention of the profiles already
made: to start from an existing profile and you dont start from zero with a new family of profiles.

To click with the push button destro
mouse on the name of the profile, in the
Browser di progetto, and then Modifica
from the contextual menu.
You see a file that it contains the profile
that it will go saved with a new name
and reloaded in the project after the
changes.
Or using Salva... to then open it and
change it.
Note
The Uprights are the system objects and then they exist ONLY in a projects. They use the Profiles
that are external family leaded in special file.
5.2 Personalize a stirrup

As for the uprights, the stirrups can
have a different personalizations, acting
on the dimensional parameters and of
material, creating different types.
From the Browser di progetto, on the
branch of the Famiglie, to open the
category Attrezzature speciali, and on
the family that interest you, click with
the push button destro mouse. To
choose Duplica and then, with the
same way, Propriet... to gain access to
parameter of the type and carry out the
changes.
To make easier and speed up the work, in insertion phase and regulation of the spiders in the panels,
they have used the shared family that define globally the stirrup, the spider and the knee-caps.
Every piece (family) has formed from the relative family of stirrups, spiders and knee-caps that have
nested in inside.
Editing a family, you will find in inside of the family the objects that are the families and their
parameter are connected with the principal family to fall.
To create a new stirrup we advise you to start from an existing and to respect the parameter in this
content, punishment the not operation.

From the Browser di progetto, on the
branch of the Famiglie, to open the
category Attrezzature speciali, to select
clicking with the push button destro
mouse on the family that interest you,
and then Modifica or Salva...
respectively to open the family directly
in the editor and then save it with a new
name or create a new family to open
later.
In the new family to repeat the operation to obtain the files of the families nested.
At the end of the changes to reload the nested in the principal family and this family reloads in the
project to use the new stirrup/spider.
Note
Only some of the parameter have connected to the family of the panel holderspider to consent
solutions of different stirrups not only as geometry but also as parameter definition.
The personalization of this elements need some experience in the use of Autodesk Revit especially in
the personalization of the families. This type of explanations is beyond from the purpose of the present
guide.
5.3 Personalize glasses

The glass panels used are the simple families of system where the only planning out are relative to
material and to dimensions.
In the file .Rvt that includes the bookshops, there are a different types of glass panels to use.
To create new type of panel: from the

Browser di progetto, on the branch of
the Famiglie, to open the category
Pannelli di facciata continua, to open
also the family Pannello sistema and
then select, clicking with the push
button destro mouse, on the type that
interest you and then Duplica.
To assign a new name and then, with
the same way Propriet... from the
contextual menu of the new type
created.

The window of the ownership that you
see open contain the parameter to
personalize.
Attention to value of the parameter
Offset that MUST be always the half of
the value of the parameter Spessore for
a correct placing in comparison with the
second front that contain the uprights
and the stirrups.
An offset so defines, will place the
panels to ward the outside in
comparison to the unbroken front that
contain it.
The distance between the two fronts
will be that between the inside of the
glass and the surface of the upright of
hookup stirrups/spiders.
It is the same distance that you must
include in the placing of the spiders in
the panel Holderspider.

5.4 Knee-caps not passing
The knee-caps of the spiders have a flag to define if they are flats or flareds and a parameter for the
thickness of the glass.
Defining a thickness of the glass in the spider different from the real thickness of the glass of the panel
you make the fixings not passing.
5.5 Personalize the material

All the elements have some parameter that define the materials of every component.
For confortableness they have been already assigned some materials to uprights, to stirrups, to spiders,
to knee-caps and to glass in univocal mode.
After have loaded the object, you find it in the window of the materials with the suffix CGCTec_.

6. Conclusions
Thanks to have download the system CGCTec for the sharp structural fronts with Autodesk Revit.
We hope you have appreciated the effort to make easier a matter that isnt simple.
