Dear Alumni Brother,

It is time for Lambda Iota first Annual Derby Days! This year promises to be a great success! On behalf of the
undergraduate brothers of Lambda Iota chapter, we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to participate in this
years exciting event. Derby Days is a weeklong philanthropic event aimed to raise money for worthy causes while
promoting campus spirit and unity through social, athletic, and service-oriented events. This year, we will be holding
events like Fun-Olympics, Pie-A-Sig, Sig Auction and our Derby Darling Pageant in an effort to raising approximately
$10,000. For our first Derby Days, the chapter has decided to make the Huntsman Cancer Foundation our beneficiary. For
those of you not familiar with the Huntsman Cancer Foundation (HCF), it is a non-profit organization that was founded in
1995 with the sole purpose to fund research, education, and treatment programs of Huntsman Cancer Institute.
Currently, HCF prioritizes $13 million annually to support Huntsman Cancer Institute. Through these funds, one-third of
the operating budget for the lifesaving work at Huntsman Cancer Institute is secured.

We would like to take this opportunity to ask for a small tax-deductible donation to HCF through Derby Days. For a mere
$25, we will put your business card in the Derby Days brochure to show all of your brothers what you are doing, while
making a contribution to a great cause. We would certainly also appreciate a flat donation, if you prefer.

As the enclosed schedule indicates, Derby Days is scheduled for March 25 th to March 31st, with a Derby Day Ball, to
which you are cordially invited, scheduled for March 31 st; if at all possible, I encourage each of you to stop by campus
and participate in the activities of the week and help us make our first Derby Days successful. HCF is a worthy cause that
touches us all and Derby Days is a proud Sigma Chi tradition

I encourage you to consider making a donation or sponsoring an ad in the Derby Days brochure. In-Kind sponsorships for
our silent auction would be appreciated although a donation of $250 will allow your logo to be placed on marketing
material including hundreds of shirts and thousands of posters and flyers, not to mention on a banner at events where
thousands of FIU students will be participating. All contributions are tax-deductible, and anyone donating over $500.00
will have their company name or logo placed on an oversized check to be presented to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation.
