WHEREAS, the lloilo City School Board through Resolution No. 70 dated August 22, 2006
has endorsed the renaming of Jalandoni Memorial National High School - Bo. Obrero Extension
High School to Bo. Obrero National High School;

WHEREAS, the endorsement of the lloilo City School Board is for the Sangguniang
Panlungsod to enact said request for legal effect;

WHEREAS, Article 184, Section b(4) of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the
Local Government code of 1991 says that one of the functions of the Local School Board is "to
recommend changes in the name of public schools within the territorial jurisdiction of the local
government unit for enactment by the sanggunian concerned..

NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of the City of lloilo,

that:

Section 1. - The Jalandoni Memorial National High School - Bo. Obrero Extension High
School shall henceforth be known as the BO. OBRERO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL with all the
rights, privileges and appurtenance owing thereto;

Section 2. - That copies of this ordinance be furnished to the Philippine Historical

Commission, the Regional Director of the Department of Education, the Principal of Jalandoni
Memorial High School and the Principal of JMNHS - Bo. Obrero Extension High School.

Section 3. - This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.

ENACTED, October 18, 2006.
