On some CHU, CXU, GU and TD models, built beginning mid-December, 2009, the ABS
harness connector was located in the bulkhead behind the clutch pedal. In this location,
the clutch pedal can rub and chafe the harness during normal clutch operation. Chafing
of this harness may be accompanied by the Electronic Malfunction Indicator telltale and/or
Traction Control Indicator telltale illuminated in the instrument cluster. To resolve this issue
complete the procedure below.

Repair Procedure
You must read and understand the precautions and guidelines in Service Information,
group 3, General Safety Practices, Electrical before performing this procedure. If you
are not properly trained and certified in this procedure, ask your supervisor for training
before you perform it.

Note: Illustrations are used for reference only and may differ slightly from the actual vehicle
being serviced. However, key components addressed in this information are represented
as accurately as possible.
1 Disconnect the batteries.
2 Remove the underdash panel surrounding the pedal controls.
3 Remove the cable ties securing the ABS harness to the main chassis harness.
4 Mark and remove the airlines from the air manifold (inside and outside) located below the
Electronic Power Distribution Module (EPDM).

5 Disconnect the outside ABS harness.

6 Loosen the nut securing the ABS cab harness connector to the bulkhead.
7 Remove the ABS cab harness from the inside bulkhead.

8 Install the rubber cap plug (part no. 961973) in the vacant hole where the ABS harness
was mounted.
9 Remove the air manifold from the bulkhead.
10 Install the new air manifold (part no. 25111766) in the bulkhead. Torque the fasteners to
4.55.0 Nm (4044 in-lbs.).

6 Rubber Cap Plug (part number 961973)

11 Connect the marked airlines to their previous location on the air manifold (inside and
outside).
12 Adjust the ABS cab harness length to fit the new location and secure with new cable ties.

Note: Cut the original cable ties as needed to obtain extra length in the harness before
attaching to the new location.
13 Install the ABS cab harness connector in the hole on the new air manifold and tighten
the nut.

14 Adjust the ABS chassis harness length to fit the new location and secure with new cable
ties.

Note: Cut the original cable ties as needed to obtain extra length in the harness before
attaching to the new location.
15 Connect the ABS chassis connector to the ABS cab connector.
16 Install the underdash panel.
17 Connect the batteries.
Reimbursement

This repair may be eligible for reimbursement if a product failure was experienced
within time and mileage limits of the applicable Warranty coverage. Reimbursement
is obtained via the normal claim handling process.
