US$ 2,700 (Non Member)
(Includes: hotel accommodation for 6 nights, lunch & coffee break, course
material, course kit, certificate, and photo group)

COURSE OVERVIEW

Integrated approach for development of oil and gas field has become the norm in the current
operation within the petroleum industry. This approach requires that people from various
disciplines to work together as a team. Consequently, excellent communication among the team
members is a critical aspect in reaching the success.

This course, provides the basic understanding of reservoir engineering. It is intended for the
people with the background other than reservoir engineering. However, it can also be attended by
Reservoir Engineers that would like to refresh their knowledge.

The seminar covers the important aspect of reservoir engineering. This includes the description of
petroleum reservoirs, rock properties, saturations, fluid properties reservoir mechanism, reservoir
performance, material balance, reserve estimation and finally closed by the modern approach of
reservoir forecasting through modeling and simulation. Examples from actual field data will be
used as the demonstration to support presentation materials.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS

Asnul Bahar is the Principal Consultant on Integrated Reservoir

Modeling and Flow Simulation Study as well as the Business
Development and Operation Manager, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering (1988) from
Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia, and both MS (1994) and
Ph.D. (1997) degrees in Petroleum Engineering from the University
of Tulsa.

His main research is in the area of reservoir modeling with the

expertise in geostatistical methodology. He has conducted
numerous integrated reservoir studies by incorporating geological,
geophysical and engineering information to obtain better reservoir model from various oil
fields worldwide. He is also taught industrial short courses on Geostatistics, Reservoir
Modeling and Reservoir Engineering, for various international participants. Additionally, he
has special skill in developing the commercial software for Windows platform using .NET
environment. Prior to working with Kelkar and Associates, he earned international working
experiences with Schlumberger Wireline & Testing Ltd., and as the Sr. Reservoir Simulation
Engineer for Schlumberger Reservoir Technology in Denver, Colorado.
