The Articles

Let it be understood that the ensuing articles are the consent of all members of
Bloody Historical, and that this body is a democratic one, and that all members of
this body have a duty to uphold these articles and have an equal vote on all matters
concerning the crew as a whole.

Bloody Historical is an umbrella company that covers the Pirates of the Northern
Star, the Cowboys of the Western Star, the Knights of the Eastern Star, and any
other genres the crew chooses to do. As such, these articles are fully enforced within
any of the groups covered by Bloody Historical.

The crew shall be run by a Board, made up of its founding members, and any other
person the board so designates. There is to be no one person in charge of the crew,
nor shall any person own the crew and its affects. Decisions are made by the Board,
in a majority vote, on such matters including, but not limited to, new members,
appearances, and the sharing of finances. The decisions the Board makes are final
in all matters. Matters that effect the crew as a whole will be brought to the crew at
a general meeting, where a final decision concerning these matters (such as
whether we go to an appearance or not) will be made.

Mission and Goals

The Mission:

The mission of Bloody Historical is to present both Historical and Theatrical

Entertainment to children and adults. We also aspire to help young people who are
struggling with social, emotional, and medical difficulties, and aid charities that are
dedicated to these causes. In addition, we provide our services to help other non-
profit organizations and agencies raise funds for their endeavors.

Our Goals:
-To support charities that help both children and adults, and to cooperate with
other nonprofit groups that share our common goal
-To employ entertainment and living history interpretation as primary methods of
education
-History can be not only interesting but also fun. Realistically portraying people
from a specific time period who can physically 'interact' with the public is one of the
most effective ways of teaching.

any patron or customer.

Documenting your Impression
Typically when we do Golden Age of Piracy we display the year 1723. Your
impression must fit into that year, but can be a variety of types of people.
We have some suggestions below to help you create your character.

Male Impressions

-Poor Able Bodied Sailor- This would have a rattier kit, tar stained. Your skills
can include taring ropes, or tying knots, or displaying what grog is. It is a good
simple first impression. This particular person could be ex-navy, or a pressganged
individual who had no choice.

-Ships Officer- These characters are reserved for those who work up the ranks
with knowledge. We ask anyone who wants to be an officer to display proper
knowledge of the era, character being able to be displayed as first person, and
commitment to our group. Your costuming would include a nicer weskit, possibly
with metal buttons, tie breeches, a frock coat, nicer shoes with small buckles and a
floppy hat or Monmouth/thrum cap.

Women Impressions

-Captains of Officers Wife- With a careening encampment, we can cover a

female being with the sailors if we careened the ship close enough to the captains or
officers home, allowing his wife to ride up and visit. This was done by captain
Kidds wife when he came up to Boston. You can bring simple hand sewing or
embroidery to do as a display, and even bring small children with period games.

-Local Fish Mongers Wife or other selling their wares- Camp Followers
were not typical, but a fish mongers wife may be buying fish from the sailors, or
selling wares to them.

-Female Pirates-We would this impression to be done VERY carefully. Either

you are in full females mantua, or you are ready to go with a boarding party in full
male kit. You may not want to let on that you are a woman if you are in male kit.
