Summary & Overview

TORAH
Numbers 16:1 | Revolt of Korach, Dathan, and Abiram
Numbers 17:1 | The Budding of Aaron's Rod
Numbers 18:1 | Responsibility of Priests and Levites
Numbers 18:8 | The Priests' Portion

Last week we looked at when Israel approached the border of the Promised
Land. This is where the enemies became greater, and relates to us, as we
approach the border of the time, nearing the end,and our enemies become
greater as we approach His Second Coming. We looked at Spiritual Warfare
and how to overcome these Giants in our lives. This week, the enemy is not
external, but the attack is from within, where the spirit of Satan infiltrates the
leadership within Congregations. This makes him a very difficult enemy to
identify and why deception is so severe in the last day Church, the Seventh
Church that is mentioned in the Book of Revelation.

Rebellion against Leadership

Num 16:1-3 Now Korach the son of Izhar, the son of
Kohath, the son of Levi separated himself, with Dathan and
Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On the son of Peleth, sons of
Reuben, took men; 2 and they rose up before Moses with some
of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty leaders of the
congregation, representatives of the congregation, men of
renown. 3 They gathered together against Moses and Aaron,
and said to them, You take too much upon yourselves, for all the
congregation is holy, every one of them, and YHVH is among them. Why
then do you exalt yourselves above the assembly of YHVH?
Korach was the son of Izhar that means fresh oil or shining oil. Izhar
was the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, who was responsible for carrying the
Ark of the Covenant and all the furnishings of the Tabernacle. This reveals that
Korach came from a good family line with great attributes, and his fathers were
used mightily in the Kingdom of YHVH. Korach was a trusted member in the
Camp of the Levites and had the appearance of a Godly man, but beneath the
surface, he became a rebel.
Q Why did Korach rebel?
I believe the key to Korachs rebellion is found within the very first phrase of this
Portion, veyi-qach qorach, that means and Korah took himself This is
the key to everything that went wrong in Korahs life, he took himself, and
forgot that he belonged to YHVH.

http://www.hasophim.com/ 1
He forgot that YHVH redeemed him and whatever YHVH redeems, He owns.
Korach decided not to be YHVHs property anymore, and took the ownership of
his life, back from YHVH.
Secondly, Korach could never inherit the high priest position, so he planned a
coup to take the government by force. There is a third reason why Korach
rebelled. Korach is also found in Gen 36:5,14 where Korach was one of the
descendants of Esau, who became the nation called the Edomites. They lived in
a region South of Canaan, Kadesh-Barnea, where they opposed Israel and
denied them access and passageway into the Promised Land. This reveals the
motive behind Korahs rebellion, which was to prevent Israel to enter the
Promised Land. The spirit of Esau worked through Korach, like the spirit of an
opposing force, that can infiltrate YHVHs people creating an enemy from within.

Angel of Light Appearance

It says that Korach, together with Dathan and Abiram the sons of
Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took 250 men,
that rose up against Moses and Aaron. Rebels are cowards
because Korah had to gather other people around him to stand for his truth,
250 men came against 2 leaders. The 250 leaders of the congregation, those
summoned for meetings, were men of renown, the same men that Moses had
called to be leaders of tens, fifties and hundreds. 250 is the numeric value of
meray which is rebellious and merod which is wandering or lost. This
teaches us that rebellion is never only through one person alone, rebellion
always influences and stirs up a crowd. This is to outnumber and overthrow the
authority they are opposing, taking over the leadership. We saw the same kind
of rebellion when the people gathered together to build the Tower of Babel. The
nature of rebellion is to assemble a crowd or mob, and take mass action against
the current authority or leadership.
The enemy will target trusted men of renown to turn them so they become an
internal agent for the Kingdom of Darkness inside the Kingdom of Light. These
rebellious leaders dress up with garments of Holiness and have a Godly
appearance, and people follow them without even noticing their underlining
flaws. This is one of the characteristics and tactics of Lucifer, the Father of Lies.
He masquerades as an Angel of Light, which makes it difficult to see the evil
behind the Godly facade. Korach is in nature similar to Lucifer who, disguised
himself as a leader of light, to gain the support of the people while stirring evil
from within.

Rebellion Against YHVHs True Leaders - Revealing

False Spiritual Entities
Num 16:12 And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram the sons of Eliab,
but they said, We will not come up! 13 Is it a small thing that you have
brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the
wilderness, except you make yourself altogether a prince over us?
Moses called for Dathan and Abiram, but they refused and accused Moses of
being a self-appointed leader (prince).

http://www.hasophim.com/ 2
This verse stands out when you look at it in Hebrew, the last phrase; except
you make yourself altogether a prince over us is the word sarar ,
repeated three times. Sarar means exercise; dominion, altogether, make self a
prince, (bear) rule. The first part of the word is sar
that means a head
person (of any rank or class):--captain, chief, general, governor, keeper, lord,
master, prince(-ipal), ruler, steward. Changing the vowel points gives the
following meanings; a cord, umbilical cord, also figuratively, as the centre of
strength, navel.
Sar represents a leader that connects the child to the mother or the
Mediator that connects man to the Father, that is Yshua the Leader Who is the
centre of our spiritual strength. Sar is made up of the letters Shin s, that
means Spirit, Fire and Holiness, and represents the Holy Spirit or anointing that
is upon the resh r, the head of the leader, anointing and appointing them in
this role to connect people in the Assembly to the Father.
The repeat of sarar three times; uses six reshs

and three shins ( Looks like a crown). As we have seen before, the
shin is associated with YHVHs Holy Spirit and YHVHs Holiness. Repeating
this letter three times connects to the passages where the words, Holy, Holy,
Holy, are repeated three times as well:
Isa 6:2-3 Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings: with two
he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he
flew. 3And one called out to another and said, "Holy, Holy, Holy, is YHVH
Tsevaot, the whole earth is full of His glory."
Rev 4:7-9 The first living creature was like a lion, the second like a calf,
the third had a face like a man, and the fourth was like an eagle in flight.
8And each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered

with eyes all around and within. Day and night they never stop saying:
Holy, Holy, Holy, is YHVH El Shaddai, who was and is and is to come!
9And whenever the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to the

One seated on the throne who lives forever and ever

The six reshs are associated with human leadership where number 6
represents man and resh means head or leader. This gives us the insight
that YHVH appoints leaders through His Holiness or anointing. From last weeks
study we learned about three things through which we can be made profane
(unholy); that is YHVHs Name (Character), yourself and the Assembly
(Sanctuary). This means that the three shins are the three tasks of the true
anointed leaders of YHVH, establishing and maintaining these three areas;
being holy set apart leaders who bear the right fruit, uplifting YHVHs true
character and carrying His Name with dignity, and ensuring that YHVHs people
are guided along the road (derek) of righteousness. These true leaders are like
Moses whom people/leaders like Dathan and Abiram, will naturally rebel
against.
Points To Ponder: True leaders are appointed through the Gifts of the Spirit,
false leaders are self-appointed or chosen by the people. Refusing to come up
or be guided by these true leaders is a refusal to draw near, even unto YHVH.

http://www.hasophim.com/ 3
Rebelling against appointed authority or leaders will have consequences,
especially if the spiritual leader is in the right. The holiness of the Leader will
determine their abilities effectiveness and power, represented by the Shins on
their life (Fire power, Holiness - Relationship).
Q Who do these two rebellious leaders represent?
Dathan means belonging to a fountain. His name is similar to Dothan, a
place in Palestine and is found in Gen chapter 37:
Gen 37:16-18 And he said, I seek my brethren: tell me, I pray thee,
where they feed their flocks. 17 And the man said, They are departed
hence; for I heard them say, Let us go to Dothan. And Joseph went after
his brethren and found them in Dothan. 18 And when they saw him afar
off, even before he came near unto them, they conspired against him to
slay him.
Joseph sought his brothers where they fed the flock and found them in
Dothan. Dothan contains the word da-at that means Law and Dothan means
Double Law or two Laws. Viewing this from a prophetic perspective reveals that
Joseph (Yshua) was sent by His Father
(YHVH) into the field (world), to see if the
flock (His people) were fed by brothers
(appointed Shepherds or Leaders). When
Yshua came the first time, He found His
Brothers (Judah / Jews) feeding the flock a
double Torah, that is YHVHs Torah with
their added oral traditions, known as the
Talmud today. He confronted them, and they
conspired and killed Him.
Abiram
means my father is exalted and father of loftiness.
Q Where have you heard the title of father in the context of loftiness or
arrogance?
Pope Pius V blasphemed, The Pope and God are the same, so he has all
power in Heaven and earth. (1)
Pope Innocent III said We may according to the fullness of our power,
dispose of the law and dispense above the law. Those whom the Pope of
Rome doth separate, it is not a man that separates them but God. For the
Pope holdeth place on earth, not simply of a man but of the true God. (2)
Pope Leo XIII declared, We hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty.
(3)

The Popes claim the title of Vicar of Christ, which means substitute
Christ. The word antichrist doesnt just mean against Christ, it means in
place of Christ.
Pope Boniface VIII said We declare, assert, define and pronounce to be
subject to the Roman Pontiff is to every creature altogether necessary for
salvation I have the authority of the King of Kings. I am all in all, and above
all, so that God Himself and I, the Vicar of Christ, have but one consistory,
and I am able to do almost all that God can do. What therefore, can you make
of me but God? (4)

http://www.hasophim.com/ 4
Pope Pius IX said, I alone am the successor of the apostles, the vicar of
Jesus Christ. I am the way, the truth, and the life (5)
Pope Pius X declared, The Pope is not simply the representative of Jesus
Christ. On the contrary, he is Jesus Christ Himself, under the veil of the flesh.
Does the Pope speak? It is Jesus Christ who is speaking, hence, when anyone
speaks of the Pope, it is not necessary to examine but to obey. (6)
Pope Pius XII said, recognize the Holy, Catholic, Roman Church to be the
only true Church of Jesus Christ, outside of which neither sanctity nor
salvation can be found. Call them to the unity of the one fold, granting them
the grace to believe every truth of our holy faith and to submit themselves to
the Supreme Roman Pontiff, the Vicar of Jesus Christ on earth. (7)

These blasphemous Papal proclamations that identify these rebellious leaders

with Abiram who oppose what Yshua told us in John 14:6, I am the way, the
truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Warning: Dathan and Abiram represent the two Religions that influence all
Christian Faiths and has rebellious leaders that are against the true authority
of Yshua the Messiah, as represented by Moses in this Torah Portion. We
need to be aware of this fact and careful not to be entrapped by their
doctrines, mixing it in with YHVHs Word to create a double Torah or
substitute Yshua with a spiritual Father figure.
Yshua is calling them both to come to Him. Dathan refuses because they do
not recognise Yshua as the true teacher of Torah, but rather honour their
Rabbis over thousands of years, collectively bundled up on the writings of the
Talmud. (Rabbi Moshe HaCohen Meisels - Ba'al "Mahadura Batra", Rabbi Moses ben
Maimon, commonly known as Maimonides or the Rambam, Rav Yisrael - Baal Shem
Tov, Moses Heller Halevi of Zbarazh, Rav Eliyahu ben Shlomo Zalman of Vilna - the
Vilna Gaon, etc.).
The other Religious entity, Abiram refused
to come to Yshua as well because of his
belief that the Pope is the Vicar of Jesus
Christ, who replaced Yshua, and the
Popes claim to represent God on earth
with salvation found only through him. To
replace Christ means to be in place of
Christ that is defined in the Scriptures as
Anti-Christ. Think about it.

Korach and the Anti-Christ

The purpose of Korachs rebellion was to take the place of Moses and Aaron, to
overthrow their authority and replace it with his own. This is the agenda of the
Spirit of Rebellion that caused Korach and the 250 men to stand up against
YHVHs anointed.

http://www.hasophim.com/ 5
The Anti-Messiah/Anti-Christ is a Spiritual entity that takes the place of
Messiah, especially His role during His Second Coming. This false Christ will
come and have a counterfeit appearance, and many will worship him in the
place of the true Messiah.
2 Thes 2:3-4 Let no one deceive you in any way, because the falling
away is to come first, and the man of lawlessness is to be revealed, the
son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called
Elohim or that is worshipped, so that he sits as Elohim in the Dwelling
Place of Elohim, showing himself that he is Elohim.
Paul reveals this entity as the man of Lawlessness (Torah-lessness) as well as
the Son of Destruction. Destruction is translated from the Greek word apleia
that means ruin or loss (physical, spiritual or eternal), damnable(-
nation), destruction, die, perdition, perish, wicked ways, waste. Apoleia is
associated with the Greek god known as Abaddon / Apollyon / Apollo. Apollyon,
or, as it is translated in Revelation 9:11 as "a destroyer." This is the rendering of
the Hebrew word Abaddon, "the angel of the bottomless pit." This is the spiritual
force that will be unleashed during the time of the Tribulation.
This Destroyer, Apollyon will make himself known and present himself as the
Messiah for the Jews, the Christ for Christians, al-Mahdi for Muslims, Maitreya
for Buddhists, Krishna for Hindus, the Cosmic Christ for spiritualists and New
Agers, the Bb for those in the Bah' faith. Rabbi Chaim Richman from the
Temple Institute stated in an interview that the significance of the Temple is that
all nations, including Muslims, can come and worship God. This is a very
generous gesture, but there is a problem regarding the false Messiahs of all
these faiths; they will see someone doing signs and wonders at the Temple or
on the Temple Mount and identify it with their Messiah, and this will cause the
nations to worship the Anti-Messiah or Antichrist in Jerusalem.
Matt 24:15-23 Therefore when you see the Abomination of
Desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy
place (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 then let those who are in
Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go
down to take anything out of his house.18 And let him who is in the field
not go back to get his clothes. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to
those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight
may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great
tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until
this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened,
no flesh would be saved; but for the elects sake, those days will be
shortened. 23 Then if anyone says to you, Look, here is the Messiah! or
There! do not believe it.
Dan 9:27 "And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one
week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and
grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who
makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is
poured out on the one who makes desolate."
People will see this man standing in the holy place doing signs and wonders,
and people will stream to Jerusalem to come and worship him as their Messiah.

http://www.hasophim.com/ 6
This is part of the prophecy in Daniel, and the Temple Mount is associated with
the starting of Sacrifices AND the Abomination of Desolation standing in the
Holy place, which I believe will be the Anti-Messiah, proclaiming himself as
God, and everybody will worship him, including the Jews and all these faiths
mentioned. This is the time when the 3,5-year reign of the Anti-Christ starts as
well as the start of the Great Tribulation. The Forty-Two Months (3,5 years) of
Rev.11:1-2 is this period wherein the enemy will "trample" Jerusalem during the
time of the Great Tribulation. (See chart at the back).
Rev 13:4-8 So they worshipped the dragon (serpent) who gave
authority to the beast; and they worshipped the beast, saying,
Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him? 5 And he
was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he
was given authority to continue] for forty-two months. 6 Then he
opened his mouth in blasphemy against Elohim, to blaspheme His
name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. 7 It was
granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them.
And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and
nation. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names
have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the
foundation of the world.
The Serpent is behind this false Messiah, and his reign (system/armies
/supporters) is called the Beast. The Beast kingdom is like YHVHs Reign or
Kingdom known under the name Elohim (including all council members, living
beings, 24 elders and angels, etc.) This Kingdom of Darkness rebelled against
the Kingdom of Light, and their followers are in a battle against one another for
42 months, that is 3,5 years. The Anti-Christ/Messiah is the face or leader that
is similar to a President, but this time, he will rule all nations in the world, and
governments will submit under him.

Interesting meanings of the number of the Antichrist, 666. It is first of all made
up of three Hebrew letters or three vavs vvv where the letter vav is
associated with the number 6, the number of man. The vav also represents
the letter w, and makes three www, depicting the world wide web. The number
of the Beast system is widely used in our modern societies today. The number
666 is associated with three Hebrew words:

yer-ee-mohth' meaning He is Most High He elevated

himself to be as God (Antichrist).
yith-rone meaning - excellency, profit(-able)
Comes from the root word yaw-thar that means to
remain or be left, to leave, cause to abound, to excel,
leave (a remnant), left behind. What is interesting is the
meanings of these three letters: yod that means hand, depicted by
paleo-Hebrew symbol . The next letter is the tav that also means
mark, as depicted by paleo symbolism . The last letter is a resh
that means head, as depicted by paleo-Hebrew symbolism .

http://www.hasophim.com/ 7
This is in line with the passage in Rev 13:16-18 where you will be able to
buy and sell, if you receive the Mark of the Beast on your forehead and
hand, but those who do, will be left behind.
seth-oor meaning hidden. The true identity of the Antichrist will
not be obvious, just like with Korah, and many will be deceived and
worship him (Beast) as prophesied in Revelation.

Testing Leadership & the Consequences of Rebellion

Num 16:16-18 And Moses said to Korah, Tomorrow, you and all
your company be present before YHVHyou and they, as well as
Aaron. 17 Let each take his censer and put incense in it, and each of
you bring his censer before YHVH, two hundred and fifty censers;
both you and Aaron, each with his censer. 18 So every man took his
censer, put fire in it, laid incense on it, and stood at the door of the
tabernacle of meeting with Moses and Aaron. 20 And YHVH spoke to
Moses and Aaron, saying,21 Separate yourselves from among this
congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.
The first test was where Moses told Korach and
his 250 men, each to bring a censer or fire pan
as an incense offering before YHVH. This was a
test to see how they would respond. If they had
said, no, because they remembered the incident
with Aarons two sons who died when they
brought a Strange Fire offering before YHVH,
they would have been spared. They all failed the
test and agreed to bring their incense offerings
before YHVH. You cannot bring an offering to
YHVH if your heart is full of rebellion. You have
to repent first and then bring your offering.
Num 16:31-35 Now it came to pass, as he finished speaking all
these words, that the ground split apart under them, 32 and the
earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, with their
households and all the men with Korah, with all their goods.33 So
they and all those with them went down alive into the pit; the earth
closed over them, and they perished from among the assembly.
34 Then all Israel who was around them fled at their cry, for they
said, Lest the earth swallows us up also! 35 And a fire came out
from YHVH and consumed the two hundred and fifty men who were
offering incense.
No other man made YHVH as angry as Korach did, which resulted in a severe
judgement to come upon him and his followers. It takes discernment to
recognise these rebels among the people of YHVH. The aim of this study is to
equip the saints to identify this enemy within their camp, to remove these rebels
from their midst so the people can be led by an undefiled leadership.

http://www.hasophim.com/ 8
Their strange fire offerings caused their
deaths because of their rebellion. Only the fire
pans remained, and Moses directed the people
to gather all the fire pans and hammer them
into a metal covering that would cover the Altar
and be as a sign and reminder of the peoples
rebellion. Not only that, Korach and his
household were swallowed alive into the earth.
By this YHVH showed that He chose Moses
and those who rebel against Him will not go
unpunished.

Leadership in the Assembly

Q - Why do we need Leadership and a Structure?
Eph 4:11-12 And He Himself gave some as Apostles, and some as
Prophets, and some as Evangelists, and some as Shepherds and Teachers
(12) for the perfecting of the set-apart ones, to the work of service to
building up of the body of the Messiah,
YHVHs Leadership takes on different roles within the Body of Messiah and is
as follows: Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Shepherds, Teachers and Elders.
Remember that Yshua is the Head of His Body and all these leadership
attributes existed within Him and can only be manifested in an Assembly when
anointed leaders are one or echad. All of these offices can collectively be
grouped under the title Elder, Leader or Overseer. A leader, Elder or Overseer
must comply with the following guidelines in a Congregation:
Elders are the spiritual Leaders in the Congregation that can function
in one or more of the leadership offices and must comply with the
guidelines listed in the following passages:
1Pe 5:1-5 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am
also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Messiah, and also
a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: (2) Feed the flock
of Elohim which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not
by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready
mind; (3) Neither as being lords over Elohim's heritage, but
being ensamples to the flock. (4) And when the chief Shepherd
shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fades not away. (5)
Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be
subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for Elohim resists the
proud, and gives grace to the humble.
Tit 2:1-8 But you speak the things which become sound doctrine: (2)
aged men (elders) to be temperate, sensible, discreet, sound in faith, in love,
in patience. (3) Let the aged women (female elders) likewise be in reverent
behavior, not slanderers, not enslaved by much wine, teachers of good; (4)
that they may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their
children, (5) to be discreet, pure, keepers at home, good, subject to their
own husbands, that the Word of Elohim may not be blasphemed. (6)
Likewise exhort the young men to be discreet;

http://www.hasophim.com/ 9
(7) In all things having shown yourself a pattern of good works: in the
doctrine, purity, sensibleness, without corruption, (8) in sound speech that
cannot be condemned, that he who is opposed may be ashamed, having no
evil thing to say of you.
1 Tim 3:1-7 This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a
bishop (overseer, elder or leader), he desires a good work. 2 An overseer
then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded,
of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; 3 not given to wine, not violent,
not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; 4 one who
rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all
reverence 5 (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will
he take care of the church of God?); 6 not a novice, lest being puffed up with
pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. 7 Moreover, he must
have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he falls into
reproach and the snare of the devil.
Each Congregation can have multiple Leaders or Elders, each fulfilling one or
more of the following 5 offices:
Apostles: Paul was an Apostle or sent one, someone who goes out and
brings unity among different Assemblies within a particular area, even
across the world. They build bridges between the various Congregations to
ensure that the collective Body of Messiah is healthy and functioning and in
unity.
Prophets: Prophets are people who are appointed by YHVH to speak
into the Congregation, setting things straight that are wrong, or giving
direction the Assembly should take. Prophets are people who speak
the Words of YHVH to bring the flock back into the safe boundary of
the Torah. YHVH uses these anointed people to reveal His vision for that
particular Assembly so that He can achieve His Plan and purpose He
has for that particular Congregation in that time.
Evangelists: These are Leaders who are appointed to go out and bring
people into the Body of Messiah. They are the
gatherers that are well networked within the
community. They are not afraid to spread the Word of
YHVH and to share the message of Salvation through
Messiah Yshua. You might have people like this in
your local assembly who are anointed to go out and
fish for souls in the world.
Shepherds: These are leaders within the Body of Messiah that care for
people and look after the spiritual and physical well-being of the
Congregation. Shepherds can be Teachers as well, but their primary
function is to care for the flock and to visit and encourage people who
are in need of help and spiritual guidance.

http://www.hasophim.com/ 10
Teachers: Teachers are not only there to reveal the Word to people, but also
teach them how to search and study the Scriptures on their own. Their
primary function is to equip the saints so that they can be active
members of the Body of Messiah. To train up the Soldiers so that
they can overcome all the tactics and attacks of the enemy in this life
called the Wilderness. Teachers have a great responsibility to ensure
they only teach the Truth.
Jas 3:1 Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers,
knowing that we shall receive greater judgment.
YHVH created this structure and these roles within the Assembly to govern His
people similar to the leadership of Moses and the 70 Elders, Aaron and the
Levites, each with a purpose and function to facilitate the services and worship.
Remember not all in the Congregation were leaders and those who try to be
self-appointed leaders must be cautious of not crossing the line as Korach and
his 250 men did, when they rebelled against YHVHs appointed leadership.
YHVHs leadership are chosen through His Spirit and appointed through the
Gifts of the Spirit. His appointed giftings are not something that can be received
through your efforts, like studying to become a prophet or teacher, His Spirit
gives these giftings as He pleases and required in the Assembly.

Warning to All Leaders

Rebellion is the word marah that means, to be bitter (or unpleasant);
(figuratively) to rebel, to resist, to provoke, be disobedient, disobey, provoke(-
ing), be against. Marah is first found in Scripture in Num 20:10, that is in next
weeks Torah Portion. This was when they ran out of water yet another time,
and Moses called them rebels (marah), asking if he should make water come
out from this rock, then he smote the rock twice. YHVH commanded Moses in
verse 8 to speak to the rock, but he disobeyed and hit the rock instead.
This event cause Moses not to enter into the Promised Land. One of the
meanings of marah (rebellion) is to disobey, and here we see Moses
disobeying YHVHs Command, in other words, Moses rebelled against YHVH
regarding the giving of water because he was angry at the people because of
their rebellion.
