Our Prayer For You
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father,
may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know
him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order
that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his
glorious inheritance in his holy people.
Ephesians 1:17-18 NIV

I ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of gloryto make
you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally, your eyes
focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you
to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for his
followers.
Ephesians 1:17-18 Message

Know God
God desires an intimate relationship with you.

Sin breaks our close relationship with God. It causes us to fear God and
try to live our lives outside of His will.

The wages of sin is death, BUT the gift of God is eternal life through
Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still
sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

God is on one side and all people are on the other side, and Christ
Jesus is between them to bring them together, by giving His life for all
mankind.
1 Timothy 2:5-6 TLB

God has already done His part to restore our relationship to Him. He
took the initiative. Now He waits for each of us to individually accept
what He has done for us.

Continued Discussion

We talked about what you would spend 1 Billion dollars on and why.
God chose to spend His one and only Son on you. Why do you think
He did that?
If you were God, would you do the same for someone like you? What
about some of the people you know?
How To Become A
Christian
1. ______________ that Jesus died to pay for your sins and that He rose from
the dead and is alive today.

If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God
raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believingin your heart
that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that
you are saved. Romans 10:9-10 NLT

2. ___________ the forgiveness of sins, a purpose, and a plan for your life.

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become
children of God. They are reborn-not with physical birth resulting from human
passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God. John 1:12-13 NLT

That is what the Scriptures mean when they say. No eye has seen, no ear has
heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love
Him. 1 Corinthians 2:9 NLT

3. ______________ from the inside out.

Dont copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform
you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to
know Gods will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Romans 12:2 NLT
4. _____________ to an eternity with God. Your last breath on Earth will be
your first breath in Heaven.

But we are citizens of Heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are
eagerly waiting for Him to return as our Savior. He will take our weak mortal
bodies and change them into glorious bodies like His own, using the same
power with which He will bring everything under His control. Philippians
3:20-21 NLT

You can begin this journey

by praying a simple prayer
of commitment to God
Dear Jesus, thank you for creating me and for loving me even when Ive
ignored you and gone my own way. I realize I need you in my life, and Im
sorry for my sins. I ask you to forgive me. Thank you for dying on the cross for
me. As much as I know how, I want to follow You from now on. Please come
into my life and make me a new person inside. I accept your free gift of
salvation. Please help me to grow now as a Christian.

Everyone who calls on thename of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13
How To Have A Genuine
Relationship With God
Gods desire is for us to live in relationship with Him. Christianity is not about
religion, it is about relationship; where we learn to receive Gods love, love
Him back, and love others.

And this is the way to have eternal life-to know You, the only true God, and
Jesus Christ, the one You sent to Earth. John 17:3 NLT

And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all
your mind, and all your strength. The second is equally important: Love your
neighbor as yourself. No other commandment is greater than these.
Mark 12:30-31 NLT

Discussion
Who is Jesus to you? Why do you say that?
What have you seen Him do in your life?
When you seek Him, what is it that motivates you?
Devotional Time
Time in our day devoted to spending time with God is called devotional time.
This is where we connect to God and engage with Him in conversation.

1. The Bible: How God speaks to us.

There are many different ways God has spoken to people, whether a burning
bush, or a talking donkey, He can use anything to communicate to us. His
greatest tool, just like us, is to use His Words.

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to
make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong
and teaches us to do what is right.
2 Timothy 3:16 NLT

2. Prayer: How we speak to God.

God has privileged us with being able to talk to Him about everything and
anything. Sometimes we pray when we really need Him, sometimes we pray
before we eat, some prayers are even in the form of a worship song.

Dont worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what
you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience Gods
peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your
hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus
Philippians 4:6-7 NLT
3. Worship: Lifting God up in our lives.

Everything we do should glorify God and be an act of worship, but in our time
devoted to God it is great to be able to give praise to the God of the
universe.

Sing to the Lord, all the Earth; proclaim His salvation day after day. Declare
His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples.
1 Chronicles 16:23-24 NLT

4. Journaling: Taking Note of What God

Does in our lives.
Writing down what God says to us and what He does helps us to remember it
better. It also allows us to look back at what God has done in the past and
how faithful He has been. In that sense, Journaling is like setting up a
memorial pillar so that we can remember everything God has done.

The next morning, Jacob got up very early. He took the stone he had rested
his head against, and he set it upright as a memorial pillar. Then he poured
olive oil over it.
Genesis 28:18 NLT
Activity
Take some time now to devote to God. Read John 2:1-12 and make a note of
any part that stands out to you. Then write down what you think the verse
means and how it applies to you. Then take some time to pray to Him and
even write that down as well. This method of devotional time is called SOAP,
here is an example:

S Scripture. Write down a verse that stands out.

I have revealed You to them, and I will continue to do so. Then Your love for
Me will be in them, and I will be in them. John 17:26

O Observation. Write down what it means.

This verse to me means that as I learn more about God, the more He will
reveal to me how much He loves me and how I can better love others.

A Application. Take note of how to apply it to your life.

To apply this to my life I will be sure to write down things that I learn about
God when I read the Bible.

P Prayer. Write out a prayer to God.

Heavenly Father, today please be with me every step of the way and show me
what to do and how to do it. Amen.

Take some time afterwards to share your devotional with those in your group.
Water Baptism
We practice baptism by immersion in water, which is the way Jesus was
baptized and the way the Bible describes. Baptism represents your old self
being buried in a water grave as it dies, then your new self being born
again as you come up out of the water.

At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John
in the Jordan. Just as Jesus was coming up out of the water,
he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a
dove. Mark 1:9-10

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name
of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19

Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before

my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me beforeothers, I will disown
before my Father in heaven. Matthew 10:32-33

Water baptism declares ________________ what has happened _______________.

Discussion
Have you ever been baptized before?
If yes, what was your experience like?
If no, what holds you back from doing so?
Next Steps

Find Freedom
Freedom is found in Gods family.

At Inspire Church, we believe that God desires for us to live in freedom.

That freedom comes from being connected to a loving and accepting
family who help each other walk with Jesus.

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may
be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and
produces wonderful results. James 5:16

For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there

among them. Matthew 18:20

God brings people and communities into our lives to help us move
forward to fulfilling Gods purpose and plan. The Church is His family, His
body, and the bride of Christ, and it is where we find ourselves most at
home until we get to Heaven.

Discussion
Who in your life do you trust the most? Why?
What do you think makes a person trustworthy?
Do you feel like you have been entrusted with the deepest part of
someone else?
Vision of Inspire Church
Inspire Church exists to Inspire people to fulfill their
God-given potential. So no matter where a person might be in
their life, we help them take that next step towards knowing God and
fulfilling the purpose, plans, and destiny that God has placed on their
lives.
Our Church focuses on seven core values:

1. ___________________________________

We believe that we are called to love, and to love intentionally.

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so
you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my
disciples, if you love one another. John 13:34-35 NIV

2. ___________________________________

We believe that God is able to do more than anything we could possibly

ask or think.

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who

comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who
earnestly seek Him. Hebrews 11:6 NIV
3. __________________________________

We believe that God calls us to be humble as He is humble.

In the same way, you younger men must accept the authority of the
elders. And all of you, serve each other in humility, for God opposes the
proud but favors the humble 1 Peter 5:5 NLT

4. ___________________________________

We believe that we are called to serve Him and to serve each other.

Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to
give His life as a random for many. Matthew 20:28 NIV

5. ____________________________________

We believe that God desires for us to have a heart of generosity.

Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for
yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail,
where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. Luke 12:33 NIV

6. _____________________________________

We believe that Unity is something to contend for and something that

God blesses.

How good and pleasant it is when Gods people live together in unity! It
is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on Aarons beard,
down on the collar of his robe. It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling
on Mount Zion. For there the Lord bestows His blessing, even life
forevermore. Psalms 133:1-3 NIV

7. _______________________________________

We believe that we are to honor those above us, below us, and all
around us.

Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring
each other. Romans 12:10

Dear brothers and sisters, honor those who are your leaders in the
Lords work. They work hard among you and give you spiritual
guidance. 1 Thessalonians 5:12

Discussion
Which of these values do you feel you need to work on?
Do you see God working in your life to help you?
Our Denomination
Inspire Church is a member of a denomination known as the
International Church of the Foursquare Gospel (ICEG). The Foursquare
Gospel is by no means a new or modern gospel. It is the same gospel
proclaimed in the early church. Foursquare is simply a name applied to
help describe the four most important aspects of the gospel taught in
the New Testament. These four aspects of the gospel describe Jesus as:

1. The Savior
Jesus Christ is the only hope of Humanity. Jesus loved us and died to
save us from the penalty of our sin and rebellion. The salvation He brings
begins with a persons decision to put faith in Him.

2. The Baptizer with the Holy Spirit

Some of Jesus words to His disciples concerned empowerment. On the
Day of Pentecost, in Acts 2, the disciples experienced the presence and
power of God as they became witnesses of Jesus Christ.

3. The Healer
Jesus draws us to Himself in love and then touches us with healing
power. He perpetuates that healing power by promising that signs and
wonders would follow His followers as they went out to minister (Mark
16:17-18)
4. The Soon-Coming King
Jesus ascended into Heaven, the angels declared that He would return
to take His Church to live with Him forever (Acts 1:10-11). This is the great
hope of those who believe in Jesus as their Savior.

Inspire Church Membership Covenant

Having received Christ as my Lord and Savior and being in agreement

with the values and ideas presented in Growth Track Step Two, I now feel
led by the Holy Spirit to unite with the Inspire Church family. In doing so,
I commit myself to God and to the other members to do the following:

1. I acknowledge Jesus as the Lord of my life

and all creation and worship Him
By trusting in His forgiveness of my sins (Is. 53:6, John 1:12)
By surrendering my plans to His plans (Psalm 37:4)
By making Him the center of my life (Romans 12:1)
By living a moral life as defined in the Bible and as understood and
taught by Inspire Church (Romans 1:20-32, Galatians 5:19-26, 1
Corinthians 6:9-11, 18-20)
2. I am willing to love the people of Inspire
church and fellowship with my church family
By placing a high priority on Christian fellowship through Inspire
worship services, Connect Groups (Hebrews 10:25) and other
opportunities to build community and availing myself to become a
disciple (follower) of Jesus Christ.
By understanding that everyone is on their own spiritual journey and
accepting them (1 Peter 1:22) where they are and believing for all
that they can become.

3. I will follow the leadership of Inspire Church

into a life of discipleship toward Jesus Christ
By recognizing the Lords calling in my life and that they are placed
not by selection of man but by appointment from God.
By understanding that the leaderships role (Ephesians 4:12) is to
equip me for life and ministry and that a united Church (Hebrews
13:17) provides optimum opportunity for the Sprits work at Inspire.
By embracing the cultural values established by leadership and living
my life in such a way that supports these values
By submitting myself to their leadership and accepting them as
Gods appointed Spiritual Leaders in my life.

4. As a member of Inspire Church, I strive to

stand with it in ministry
By discovering and investing my spiritual gifts/ talents/ abilities and
serving in ministry, moving from an attender to a contributing
member of Inspire Church.
By viewing God as my Provider (Deuteronomy 8:18) and returning my
investment (Malachi 3:10) back into Gods Kingdom for His Kingdom-
advancing purposes.
By having a heart to attract those who dont know Jesus (Matthew
4:19) and supporting Inspire Churchs efforts (Matthew 28:18) to
Connect, Train, and Send them to fulfill their potential in Jesus
Christ.
By submitting myself to the policy and by-laws of the International
Church of the Foursquare Gospel, of whom Inspire Church is a
member.
By standing in full agreement with the church tenets of faith.

Church Finances
A tithe of everything...belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord.
Leviticus 27:30

On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum
of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come
no collections will have to be made.
1 Corinthians 16:2

1. Tithes
2. Offering

At Inspire Church, we practice tithing for the support of Christs Body, the
church, as God commands. We recognize that giving 10% of our income
is the Biblical standard for giving. Many people love to give to God but
need to have confidence in the methods and purposes used by
organizations to which they give. Therefore, there are a great number of
people willing to give if they are able to see honesty, integrity and
genuine spiritual values reflected in the lifestyles of their church leaders.

The giving of tithes and offerings is worship to Jesus Christ and an

expression of the relationship between the individual giver and the Lord.
Funds are not income only, they are worship, and must not be
considered a business transaction, but an expression of gratitude
towards God.

Discussion
What are some of your struggles with tithing?
Do you feel it is too difficult to tithe? That you cant afford it?
Do you feel that the church has taken advantage of people?

Connect Groups
Here at Inspire Church, we believe that the Church should be growing,
but still feels like a family. Joining a connect group allows you to form
life-long friendships with those in your church family and connect on a
deeper level than you would during a Sunday service.

3 Things You Should Know About

Discover Purpose
God created everyone uniquely and with a purpose.

Every one of us is unique and designed specifically for a purpose. God

has orchestrated your life and led you to this moment to help you find
out what it is, you are not here by accident, you are created with purpose
and our desire is to see you fulfill that purpose.

For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for
good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11 NLT

You can make many plans, but the Lords purpose will prevail.
Proverbs 19:21 NLT

But I have spared you for a purpose to show you my power and to
spread my fame throughout the Earth.
Exodus 9:16

God has given us each a purpose and a plan for our lives. Our job is to
seek God in order to find out what that purpose is and to do our best to
live it out.

Living Purposefully
At Inspire Church, we believe that every person has their own unique
purpose and plan for their lives. However, there are some common
misconceptions about what it means to have a purpose and plan:

1. Purpose is not just a _________________ goal, but also an

________________ decision to live out Gods plan for our lives. When we
seek God about our lives He shows us what to do each day.
From one man He made all the nations, that they should inhabit the
whole Earth; and He marked out their appointed times in history and the
boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek Him and
perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from any
one of us. John 5:39-40

2. Purpose is not just a ____________ destination, but being faithful and

fruitful in the _______________________________________ He has you on.
If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones
Luke 16:10 NLT
3. Purpose isnt limited by __________________ you serve, but by your

Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also
will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me. John 12:26 NIV

Make A Difference
God desires an intimate relationship with you.

Need to be changed all of this:

The wages of sin is death, BUT the gift of God is eternal life through
Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still
sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

God is on one side and all people are on the other side, and Christ
Jesus is between them to bring them together, by giving His life for all
mankind. 1 Timothy 2:5-6 TLB

God has already done His part to restore our relationship to Him. He
took the initiative. Now He waits for each of us to individually accept
what He has done for us.
As a follower of Jesus, I make
a difference when I
1. ______________________ with ______________ people. People matter
to God, so they matter to us.

Welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of
God. Romans 15:7 ESV

Real life change happens and leaders are developed when we take a step
towards intentional relationships.

I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the
first day until now. Philippians 1:4-5

We are a people of purpose, working together on purpose.

He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all

wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.
Colossians 1:28

There is nothing more powerful than a life changed by Christ.

In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the

Team Inspire Leadership
Requirements

1. Qualifications and Leadership

Commitment

The same goes for those who want to be servants in the church: serious,
not deceitful, not too free with the bottle, not in it for what they can get
out of it. They must be reverent before the mystery of the faith, not using
their position to try to run things. Let them prove themselves first. If they
show they can do it, take them on. No exceptions are to be made for
women same qualifications: serious, dependable, not sharp-tongued,
not overfond of wine. Servants in the church are to be committed to their
spouses, attentive to their own children, and diligent in looking after their
own affairs.

Those who do this servant work will come to be highly respected, a real
credit to this Jesus-faith. 1 Timothy 3:8-13 The Message

2. Leadership Honor Code

Commitment
As an essential part of the Inspire Church Leadership family, you have a
responsibility to develop and exhibit mature Christian behavior. This
should be the basic premise of your desire to participate in a servant-
leader position here at Inspire Church.

While serving the Body of Christ as a servant-leader at Inspire Church, you

pledge to present a good appearance at all times. In both attire and
behavior, you should strive to demonstrate Biblical standards in all
situations.

As Christians, the way we present ourselves to others is of vital

importance to the way others perceive Christ. Our conduct should never
be an embarrassment to Christ, but should exemplify the best qualities
of a mature believer and servant-leader.

Exemplifying the highest moral commitment, Church of the Inspire

Church leaders are to maintain a disciplined life of Bible reading, prayer
and fasting. You must also refrain from such things as:
Profanity Illegal drugs

Smoking Pornography

Gambling Sexual immorality

Indulging in much wine or other All behaviors which might cause

alcoholic beverages Christ to grieve and others to
stumble

Dishonest gain

3. Abuse Policy Acknowledgment

I understand Inspire church is a safe place for children and vulnerable
adults and that Inspire Church complies with all Federal and State laws
regarding reporting suspected child abuse. As a member of Team
Inspire, I understand that suspected abuse is to be reported to the staff
member who oversees the area in which I serve. I also understand the 4
types of abuse defined below:
Physical: a physical act directed at a child or vulnerable adult that
causes injury
Sexual: contact or interactions between a child and an adult, or
another child, when the child is being used for sexual stimulation of the
perpetrator or another person. This includes exploitation through
photographs, videos or other communication methods
Emotional: acts or omissions by the parent or other caregivers that
have
caused, or could cause, serious behavioral, cognitive, emotional or
mental disorders
Neglect: failure to provide for the child or vulnerable adults basic
needs.
This includes adequate adult supervision, medical attention, housing,
food and clothing. Most cases of physical neglect involve inadequate
adult supervision that has caused harm to the child or vulnerable adult
or places them in danger of such harm.

I understand it is not my responsibility to investigate and in no instance

will I confront a parent or caregiver if abuse is suspected. As a member
of Team Inspire I agree to comply with this policy and report any
suspected abuse to the staff person who oversees the area in which I
serve.
