SUMMARY
The present work fits the research line: Theories of Language and Teaching of the
Professional Master's Degree in Letters - Profletras, UESPI-UFRN, and has as its
theme: "Chronic reading in the school space: from Journalistic to Literary". It is in the
process of execution and has as its guiding axis the teaching and learning of literary
reading, starting with the chronic genre. Through the approach of this genre in the
classroom, the aim is to compare the journalistic technique by making literary,
instigating the pleasure of reading in students of classes of the 9th grade of Elementary
School, of two public schools, being one Of the rural area of the municipality of Cod-
MA and the other one of Teresina-PI. In order to do so, the work will be developed
from a sequence of motivational activities for the reading, comprehension, expression
and extension of student knowledge, through the structural analysis of the genre,
including other intertextualities, distributed in three classes of Fifty minutes each. It will
serve as base text to chronicle "Pool", by Fernando Sabino. In order to reach the
objective, a bibliographic and exploratory research was developed that is based on the
studies of the following theorists: Todorov (2014), Cosson (2012), Lajolo (2001),
Marcuschi (2011), Dionsio ) And Miller (2012), based on these mentioned theorists
and with the insertion of the chronicle reading in the school space, it is intended to
contribute to the teaching and learning of the reading of the literary genre in the school
and, at the same time, to instill the importance of Reading in the social formation of the
individual, because it is through it that we can develop the criticality of the citizen.
