Release Notes
NOTE:

Make sure to select 64-bit OS Architecture in USB Imaging Tool while configuring the USB Drive for Pull or Push WES7P Image
(Image Name 5060_7025_32GB) for 5060* platform and WES7P (Image Name 7040_7000_32GB). Rest of the platforms fall
under the 32-bit OS Architecture for WES7P image.
Wyse Enhanced Ubuntu Linux with 3010 (T50) is an End-of-Life (EOL) platform. Hence this platform is not supported by USB
Imaging Tool v2.1.4. Existing customers must use USB Imaging Tool v2.1.3.

Supported types of USB drives

USB Imaging tool configures the following types of USB drives:

USB drive less than 32 GB of disk space - Removable Type

USB drive greater than 32 GB of disk space - Removable Type
USB drive greater than 32 GB of disk space - Fixed Type

Known issues
The following table lists the known issues in the USB Imaging Tool 2.1.4 release:

Table 2. Known issues

Sl no. Issue description

1 After configuring the USB drives for pull/push operation, it is recommended to remove the USB drives after performing
Eject USB from System Tray.

2 To pull WIE10 OS Image from Wyse 7040 thin client and WES7P OS Image from Wyse 5060 thin client using removable USB
drive, shrink the OS volume to less than 32 GB. Otherwise, equal to or greater than 32 GB OS partition pull operation does
not work using a removable USB drive. It is recommended to use the Compressed Pull operation when you use the
Removable USB drives.

3 To pull WES7P OS Image from Dell Latitude 3460 mobile thin client and Dell Latitude E7270 mobile thin clients using
removable USB drive, shrink the OS volume to less than 32 GB. Otherwise, equal to or greater than 32 GB OS partition pull
operation does not work using a removable USB drive. It is recommended to use the Compressed Pull operation when you
use the Removable USB drives.

4 BSOD (Error Code ending 021a) may be observed after Win10 upgrade and when standard package is pushed on top of
WES7P on Wyse 7040 thin clients.

5 Dell Latitude 3460 Mobile Thin Client: Sysprep pulled Image push operation may fail (Error: Image update from USB failed).

6 Only BIOS push fails on D class device for ThinOS Lite Pro OS.

7 Cloning does not work with more than 32 GB Fixed type HDD for Wyse 3020 thin client with ThinOS (T10D).

8 Image push of the pulled Ubuntu image on T50 device does not work.

Build details
This section provides the build details.

Table 3. Build details

Package Name Dell_Wyse_USB_Imaging_Tool_v2.1.4.exe

Version v2.1.4

Build 27200

Size(Bytes) 169 MB (177, 659, 904 bytes)

Important notes
Cloning is supported with the symmetrical USB drives. For example, you can clone fixed type USB drive to another fixed type USB
drive, and removable type USB drive to another removable type USB drive. If you want to clone fixed type USB drive to removable type
USB drive or vice versa, then the cloning operation might not work.
Images registered or added using earlier versions of USB Imaging Tool such as 1.x or 2.0.9.15 will not be recognized by USB Imaging Tool
v2.1.4.
a Back up the images from the USB drive.
b Re-register the same Images from backed up location to the USB drive with the USB Imaging Tool 2.1.4.
To upgrade the Wyse 7040 thin clients from WES7P, use the upgrade package of Win10. Standard Win10 Image cannot be pushed to
upgrade from WES7P.
WIE10 upgraded Image, if pulled, cannot be pushed on Wyse 7040 thin client with WES7P for upgrade.
After the Wyse 7040 thin client is upgraded to Win10, it cannot be downgraded to WES7P.
Dell recommends you to select 64bit BIOS architecture in the USB Imaging Tool while configuring the USB drive for pull or push
operation of the following OS Images:
WES7P image on Wyse 5060 thin client
WES7P image on Wyse 7040 thin client

For all other platforms, WES7P Images come under 32-bit OS architecture.
Dell recommends you to have the Backup folder with read and write permission for USB Imaging Tool. In case the Backup folder is
Read Only, then the Format and Update option in USB Imaging Tool fails to configure the USB drives.
