Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing in response to your vacancy announcement (Program Coordinator). I possess I wide
range of experiences in working on humanitarian assistance projects for post conflict communities in
the Middle East on education, youth and children development. I am a former International Rescue
Committee (IRC) employee as an Education Technical Advisor in the Middle East. I delivered
consultancy services to most of UN and international agencies, such as UNFPA, UNDP, UNESCO,
UNHCR, UNFAO, UNIDO, CHF International, Mercy Corps, and IRC.
My expertise as Project Manager, Training and Education Specialist, Project Evaluator spans from the
provision of physical learning facilities, through building capacities of educators and the development
of learning environments, the integration of ICT in Education, to curriculum design and textbook
development, teacher training programs, and educational assessment. Through my previous work
experience I managed several education projects including management and budgeting, and liaison
with the counter parts such as UNHCR, USAID, and other UN agencies. I supervised the country teams
in Syria, Iraq, and Jordan in developing country strategy for children and youth protection and
development.
I hold Ph.D. in Education from Hamburg University in Germany (2002), my education also includes a
B.Sc. in Chemistry, a diploma from Boston College, MA, USA on the use of ICT in Education and M.A.
in Curriculum and Instruction. I have put myself in working in different jobs, and I designed and
organized a variety of training programs and evaluation activities in several countries: USA, Canada,
UK, Lebanon, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Egypt, Germany, Iraq, Jordan, Macedonia, Switzerland,
Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Tunisia, Turkey, Libya, Morocco, Syria, UAE, Oman, Russia, Iraq, Qatar, Yemen,
Switzerland, and Azerbaijan.
Through my employment at UNESCO, I managed three educational projects (Strengthening
Secondary Education in Iraq; In-Service Teacher Training and ICT Project; and ICT in Education
Project), in which I gained understanding of project management at international level, and designing
and organizing training programs targeting all practitioners in education, as well as I wrote several
books on child education, such as "The World in the Classroom: ICT in Education", Science for All
Children, and Math for All Children. Along with my native Arabic language; I possess good skills in
English and German.
