sent)On June 29, 2017 FBI Special Agent Colin Crow was assisting the Lancaster
Police Department in investigating the report of a kidnapping of 13 year old
Shavon Randle (FBI Report 2182853). During the course 6f their investigation
they obtained two suspects involved in the kidnapping Darius Fields B/M
11/25/1990 and Laporshya Polley 12/24/1991. While investigating the location of
the suspects they learned that both Darius Fields and Laporshya Polley may be
staying at the Best Western Hotel located at 4110 W Airport Freeway Irving,
Dallas County, Texas.
Special Agent Colin Crow spoke with staff at the hotel and asked if they had seen
either suspect at the hotel, Staff recognized Darius Fields as the occupant of room
#116. Staff also supplied officers with a copy of Darius Fields driver's license
showing him as the registered owner of room #116. Hotel staff told officers that a
female (described as sounding young) called the front desk to report their
television was having issues and wanted it repaired.
Officers from the Irving Police Department and FBI knocked on the door and
contacted Darius Fields. Officers could immediately smell the odor of marijuana
emitting from the room as he opened the door. Due to the exigent circumstances
that the victim from the Dallas Police kidnapping may be stil be held against her
will inside the room and the odor of marijuana emitting from inside the room
officers conducted a protective sweep of the room and officers observed Laporshya.
Polley actively flushing marijuana down the toilet and marijuana floating in the
water. Officers observed 2 box of firearm ammunition in plain view inside the
hotel room; Darius Fields is a convicted felon out of Tarrant County District Court
#4 on 01-12-2012 Cause # 1248446001
Irving Police Department Officers obtained a search warrant for the hotel room and
vehicle associated with it. It was signed by Judge Jackson on June 30, 2017.
In plain view officers also observed the Keys to a Honda vehicle inside tke room.
Parked directly outside of room #116 was a 2010 Black Honda bearing Texas
license plate 12R2709. Laproshya Polley asked officers on scene if they could get
her jacket out of the vehicle. Darius Fields told officers "just search it if you want
to" when he observed officers looking in the window of the vehicle. On the
backseat inside the vehicle I could see a clear plastic baggie consistent with
marijuana usage.
‘The vehicle was seized as evidence and impounded by FBI Agents for further
processing. Looking through the rear window of the vehicle an AK47 Pistol wasobserved. The AK pistol appeared to be real through the glass and had what
appeared to be a standard AKA7 receiver with rivets. It had a safety, trigger guard,
trigger, and dust cover that all appeared to be of some type of metal composition.
The weapon wasn't further inspected due to the vehicle not being opened. The
vehicle was going to be processed for DNA evidence so no one was allowed access
to the inside of the vehicle atthe time.
Darius Fields attempted to grant consent for Officers to search the vehicle and
Further stated the key for the vehicle was inside of the hotel room. I believe that
Darius was in care, custody, and control of this vehicle that contained the AK47.
Darius is a multi-convicted felon with his latest felony conviction showing Theft
Under 100,000 out of Tarrant County District Court #4 on 01-12-2012 Cause #
1248446001
Darius is prohibited from possessing a firearm or any ammunitions. Based on the
fact that there was what appeared to be functioning firearm in a vehicle under his
‘control he is being charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Felon. Once
the search warrant was executed there was 2.4 grams of marijuana retrieved from
the toilet where Laporshya Polley was attempting to flush it. Darius and Laporshya
both admitted to smoking and possessing marijuana. Darius is also charged with
possession of marijuana under 2 ounces since the marijuana had an unpackaged
‘weight of 24 grams, There was also a small plastic container found inside of a
black backpack near Darius's driver's license that contained an additional 2.4 grams
of marijuana separate from the one retrieved fiom the Wile.
Searching the room pursuant to the search warrant that was obtained a bottle of
Promethazine Hydrochloride and Codeine Phosphate Syrup was located in between
the bed mattress. The room was registered in Darius Fields name so he is also
being charged with Possession of Penalty Group 3 Under 200 grams. The
Promethazine Codeine had an unapacked weight of 74.5 grams. All the narcotics
were placed into the drug safe as evidence in this case.
