 CODE OF CONDUCT
AQUA Montserrat is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all its
participants. AQUA Montserrat believes that it is important that participants, members of staff and
parents associated with AQUA Montserrat should, at all times, show respect and understanding for
the safety and welfare of others. Therefore, participants are encouraged to share any concerns or
complaints that they may have about any aspect of AQUA Montserrat with any of the staff.

All participants must respect the rights, dignity & worth of fellow
participants & others, regardless of gender/ability/cultural background/religion.

All members should be committed to improving their appreciation of the

environment and approach all activities with this attitude.
Participants must be aware of potential dangers and advise urgently advise a member of staff
Participants must follow instructions given to them by members staff.
For safety reasons, and to avoid disruption for others, if participants continually choose not to follow
such directions, they may be asked to leave.

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PARENTS/CARERS

Support your childs involvement and help them to enjoy their event/activity.
Encourage your child to learn about the environment.
Set good examples by recognizing by supporting the staff.
Help your child to recognise good practices.
Encourage and guide participants to accept responsibility for their own behaviour.
Discourage being unfair and arguing with staff or other participants.
Use correct and proper language at all times.
Never punish or belittle a child.

HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT:

Aqua Montserrat is strongly committed to encouraging its participants to be safe and healthy.

In pursuing these aims the health, safety and well-being of each participant are, at all times, our paramount
concern. We will therefore take such reasonable steps as are required to ensure that the area in which we
operate; the equipment we use; our guidance; the conduct of staff and participants; and our policies and
procedures, both routine and emergency provide an environment conducive to health and safety.

HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY:

To support our Health & Safety policy statement we will:
Undertake regular, risk assessments all events and activities
Create as safe environment by putting health & safety measures in place as identified by the
assessment
Ensure that all participants are given the appropriate level of support dependent on age, maturity
and development
Ensure that all participants are aware of, understand and follow the clubs health & safety policy
Appoint a competent club member to assist with health and safety responsibilities
Ensure that normal operating procedures and emergency operating procedures are in place and
known by all members
Provide access to adequate first aid facilities, telephone and qualified first aider at all times
Report to the staff any injuries or accidents sustained during any activity or event
Ensure that the implementation of the policy is reviewed regularly and monitored for effectiveness.

AS a Participant:
Take reasonable care for your own health & safety and that of others who may be affected by what
you do or do not do
Co-operate with the staff on health & safety issues
Correctly use any equipment provided
Not interfere with or misuse anything provided for your health, safety or welfare
Follow the instructions of the staff

Aqua Montserrat Kids Club collects and holds information on club members and their parents/guardians for
the following reasons
a. To ensure compliance with health & safety and other legislation and good practice.
b. To assess and monitor the progress of club members in their badminton skills.
c. To ensure the safety and health of club members while they are attending sessions.
d. To organise matches with other clubs.
e. To monitor that club fees and other charges have been paid.

Access to this information is generally restricted to club officials and coaches, who take reasonable steps to
hold it securely. The club will share limited amounts of information as required with outside bodies such as
medical and emergency services, and other snorkeling or ocean conservation clubs. We will not release
information to third parties for marketing purposes. In joining the club, you and/or your parent/guardian
consent to our collecting and using your personal information in this way. You have the right to see a copy
of the information we hold on you, and, if notified of any inaccuracies in it, we will correct them.
