Shipping logistics is the movement of freight by sea.

It can include deep-sea shipping across

oceans and also short-sea shipping in coastal waters. Some goods are shipped in bulk (e.g. oil,
coal, grain) but manufactured goods are usually shipped in containers. There are international
standards for the shape and size of a container, so containers from different sources can be
stacked very efficiently on a ship, because they fit together neatly.

It is also possible to move freight by barge on an inland waterway, but this is not usually called
shipping.

Logistics is the management of the flow of goods, information and other resources between the point
of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet the requirements of consumers (frequently,
and originally, military organizations). Logistics involves the integration of
information, transportation, inventory, warehousing, material handling, and packaging, and
occasionally security. Logistics is a channel of the supply chain which adds the value of time and
place utility. Today the complexity of production logistics can be modeled, analyzed, visualized and
optimized by plant simulation software

Employee benefits

Employee benefits and (especially in British English) benefits in kind (also called fringe
benefits, perquisites, perqs or perks) are various non-wage compensations provided
to employees in addition to their normal wages or salaries.[1] Where an employee exchanges (cash)
wages for some other form of benefit, this is generally referred to as a 'salary sacrifice' arrangement.
In most countries, most kinds of employee benefits are taxable to at least some degree..

Incentive:

In economics and sociology, an incentive is any factor (financial or non-financial) that enables or
motivates a particular course of action, or counts as a reason for preferring one choice to the
alternatives. It is an expectation that encourages people to behave in a certain way.[1] Since human
beings are purposeful creatures, the study of incentive structures is central to the study of all
economic activity (both in terms of individual decision-making and in terms of co-
operation and competition within a larger institutional structure). Economic analysis, then, of the
differences between societies (and between different organizations within a society) largely amounts
to characterizing the differences in incentive structures faced by individuals involved in these
collective efforts. Ultimately, incentives' aim to provide value for money and contribute to
organizational success.

Objectives

• Growth in revenues
• Growth in earnings
• Wider profit margins
• Bigger cash flows
• Higher returns on invested capital
• Attractive economic value added (EVA) performance
• Attractive and sustainable increases in market value added (MVA)

• Introduce existing products into a new market (build on a strength)
