What is the job of a Water Resource Engineer?

Perform hydrologic studies. Hydraulic design of new plant stormwater systems and
modification of existing systems. Provide drainage assessments, improvement suggestions
based on operations consulting. Design and operate construction work of drainage system,
detention ponds, erosion control, outfall facility. Provide stormwater calculation utilizing
HydroCAD. Prepare stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP). Perform engineering
calculation (STAAD). Utilize AutoCAD and Autodesk Plant 3D to design road geometrics,
pavements, grading, earthwork, ditches, parking lot, platforms, pipe support and equipment
foundations. Plan and conduct construction projects of chemical plants expansion or
various structural improvement projects to meet operations requirements. Perform cost
estimation, prepare bid package, and contact with contractors regarding project specifics.

Assist with habitat restoration, green infrastructure, and stormwater management

projects through calculations, modeling, design, design drawings, construction
document generation, and construction oversight.
Assisted in preparing MS4 NPDES permits for 20+ cities/townships, municipal
ordinance review, and data analysis.
Led remediation efforts in designing and conducting contaminated soil bench tests
and creating Phase I/II-funded parcels maps for Wayne County City districts.
Field work including woody debris GPS mapping, sediment sampling, construction
