Create a new worksheet and name it My Profile. Provide the information regarding your
name, roll number, group number and roll numbers of your group members in the newly
created worksheet:

The filled cells of the worksheet should look like the following:

There are no marks allocated to the preliminary task. However, if the preliminary task is not
correctly done there will a penalty of 5 marks from the assignment total marks.

Part A (10 marks):

Go to the worksheet titled Houses sold and perform the following tasks:

1. Fill in cells C4 to H15 such that each cell represents the total number of 3
houses sold in a particular month (mentioned in consecutive rows of
column B) which have certain number of beds (mentioned in consecutive
columns of row 3).
Note: The data set contains houses with beds ranging from 1 to 33. For
this part, each house must fall into one of the 6 categories specified in cells
C3 to H3.
You must use a conditional formula to arrive at your answers.
2. Fill in cells I4 to I15 to compute the total number of houses sold in each 1
month from January to December.
3. Construct a bar chart (column chart) to represent the number of houses of 3
each category (1 bed, 2 bed, 3 bed, 4 bed, 5 bed and more than 5 beds)
sold in each month (January to December).
The legend should appear at the right side of the chart and must be
labelled according to the category of houses (1 bed, 2 bed, 3 bed, 4 bed, 5
bed and more than 5 beds).
The title of the chart must be Number of houses sold in each month (by
number of beds).
The titles for x axis and y axis should be Months and Houses sold respectively.
Refer to the image below for sample output.
4. Insert a line chart to demonstrate the number of houses sold in each 3
month.
Use the entries in cell I4 to I15 as input for constructing the 2-D line chart.
Format the y-axis such that the breaks in axis appear after intervals of 250
units (refer to the image below).
The title of the chart must be Houses sold in each month.
After completing step 3 of part A, the relevant chart must appear as the image below:

After completing step 4 of part A, the relevant chart must appear as the image below:

Part B (11 Marks):

Go to the worksheet titled Property Tax.

1. Based on the Transaction ID given in column A of the worksheet extract 1.5

the respective month of transaction from the worksheet Houses Data.
Note: You must use VLOOKUP to pull out the month of each transaction
from the other worksheet.
2. Compute the property tax on each house sale transaction and enter the 3
result in column C of the worksheet.
Property tax is computed using the following rule:
- 7.5% tax is levied upon the price of house if the house price is less
than $540,000
- 12.5% tax is levied upon the price of house if house price is greater
than or equal to $540,000.
Note: You will have to use VLOOKUP function and an IF statement.
Suggestion: You may pull the price data from the worksheet Houses Data
in a separate empty column.
3. In cells H2 to H13, input a formula to compute total property tax due in 2
each month, January to December.
Note: You will have to use a conditional formula.
4. Present the total property tax for each month in a line graph. 3
- Name this graph Monthly Property Tax Revenue.
- The graph must have labels on x-axis and y-axis (refer to the
sample output below).
- Change the format of the chart to the one demonstrated in the
visual below.
- Change the color of the line representing the data points to orange
color (refer to the sample output below).
5. Add a trend line to the chart to demonstrate the trend of change in 1.5
monthly property tax collected by the tax authorities.
Note: The trend line should appear in black color (refer to the sample
output below).

The visual output after step 5 Part B should be similar to the following image:
Part C (9 Marks):
Go to the worksheet titled price comparisons and perform the following tasks
1. Go to the worksheet titled Houses Data and perform the following tasks: 2
a) Create a copy of the worksheet Houses Data and name it Max
Prices-condition.
b) Sort the data rows in the new worksheet Max Prices-condition on
condition (from smallest to largest).
The houses which has poor condition (coded 1) should come at the
top of the worksheet, followed by the houses with bad condition
(coded 2) and so on.
c) Organize the data in this worksheet such that the maximum selling
price for each category of house condition appears in a row where
the houses for respective category ends.
d) Hide the details of the worksheet such that only seven filled rows
appear on the worksheet (refer to the image below)

2. a) Create a copy of the worksheet Houses data and name it Min 2

Prices-condition.
b) Sort the data rows in the new worksheet Min Prices-condition on
condition (from smallest to largest).
The houses which has poor condition (coded 1) should come at the
top of the worksheet, followed by the houses with bad condition
(coded 2) and so on.
c) Organize the data in this worksheet such that the minimum selling
price for each category of house condition appears in a row where
the houses for respective category ends.
d) Hide the details of the worksheet such that only seven filled rows
appear on the worksheet (refer to the image below)

3. Go to the worksheet Price Comparisons and complete the table in cells 2

K3 to L7 by filling in the maximum (in column K) and minimum (in
column L) selling price of a house for each of the five categories (ranges
from 1 to 5) of house condition.
Note: You are required to reference the required cells from sheets
4. Insert a combo chart where the bars represent the maximum price for 3
each category of house condition and line graph represent the minimum
price for each category of house condition.
The x axis must have clear condition labels as demonstrated in the image
below.
The title of the chart must be Highest and Lowest Selling price.
There must be 2 vertical axis (font color as specified) representing highest
and lowest price in each category).
The legend must be placed at the bottom of chart.

After completing step1 part C, the relevant worksheet must appear as the image below:

After completing step2 part C, the relevant worksheet must appear as the image below:
