Junior First Aid Seminar

Being prepared in any disaster and any situation is a must to everyone. Its important that every
individual knows what to do if you are under any catastrophe. In our present situation its a must for everybody
to be mentally, emotionally and physically ready, thats why the school is preparing an event that will make
students equip with necessary knowledge of what to do and what you can help if there is a disaster.

Eusebio High School Red Cross Youth and School DRRMC conducted a Junior First Aid Seminar last
August 26, 2016 at the Demonstration Room of Eusebio High School from 8:00 A.M. till 5:00 P.M. The
seminar proper had 3 talks where the speakers are from the Red Cross Pasig-Pateros-Rizal chapter. The seminar
aims to give understanding and learnings that will help students to be alert and well prepared.

The seminar started at exactly 7:00 A.M. for the registration. Mr. April Boongaling assisted in the
students registration. Then at 8:30 A.M. the official program had begun. It was started by a prayer led by Mrs.
Lailyn Areniego, followed by the opening remarks by Mr. Dennis Torre. The speakers were introduced by Mr.
Myres Victoriano.

For the seminar proper the Talk 1 was Junior First Aid Lecture. It was discussed by Mr. Dindo Cano. He
tackled basic information of what to do during emergency and basic first aid procedure. Talk 2 Junior First Aid
Lecture was talked by Ms. Gina Lucero. She taught the students the proper hygiene that the students must know
while helping victims. They simultaneously sang the happy birthday song while acting out on how to wash their
hands properly. Then after Talk 2 lunch had been served. The students enjoyed the delicious food that was
served to them.

Before Talk 3 were discussed a test was given to the students to analyze if they had learned something
so far. The students were shocked but still manage to pass the test. Talk 3 Junior First Aid Lecture was the again
presided by Mr. Dindo Cano. He taught about the different ways of proper bandaging. All of the students were
given a triangular bandage that they were going fold. It will start with a thick size folding till it will be fold into
a 1 inch size. The last part of the seminar was the hands on activity where in the students were put to the test.
They are given time to practice the folding technique then after practicing the correct technique they will have
to do it as fast as they can. The time stars with 3 minutes then it will be lessen every try. The students enjoy this
activity so much. Majority of the students did the folding in less than a minutes with the others keeps on
practicing till they get it fast and accurate.
