Shakeys V-League: Bali Pure vs. Bureau of Customs

On October 12, 2016, the Bali Pure Water Defenders played against the Bureau of
Customs Transformers in the Philippine Sports Arena for the Shakeys V-League Preliminaries.

Each team had their own foreign players. For Bali Pure, they have Kaylee Manns and
Katherine Morrell, while for Burea of Customs, they have Kanjana Kuthaisong and Natthanicha
Jaisen.

Bali Pure won in the first set, 26-24, and I think that their two imports helped them win this
set. The two imports were tall, and I believe that gave them an advantage in blocking. Also, even
though both teams had unforced errors, BOC had more unforced errors--14, while Bali Pure only
had 7. Bali Pure scored more than a few points because some of BOCs services either didnt
pass over the net or went outside the court. Since the first set had a deuce, if BOC didnt commit
that many errors, maybe they could have won the first set.

From watching this first set, I realized how important it is to know how to serve properly.
In a game, every point counts, and every time a player is not able to serve properly, the point
goes to the other group. Long rallies can be tiring, but in the end, the team who can focus longer
gets that one point. As hard as it is to earn one point, it can also be easy to lose a pointand
thats through executing a wrong service.

Bali Pure won again in the second set, 25-21. I watched as both teams played well in their
defense and offense. For BOC, Valdez was a great team captain, and we can see why. For Bali
Pure, they have Ahomiro and Gervacio to score more than a few points. As I watched them play,
I thought that the key to a good offense is aiming the ball to where its more difficult for the other
team to receive it.

The third and final set for this game is not available on YouTube, but according to an
online news article, Bali Pure won, 25-21. Thus, concluding the game. The Bali Pure Defenders
won against the Bureau of Customs Transformers.
