DEPED BATANGAS CITYs 1st QUARTER OF 2016

Dr. Donato G. Bueno, OIC Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd Batangas City
delivered a remarkable message to the employees on the first working day of January,
2016. Everyday is Christmas Day that we should deliver our service with the most kind
heart and big smile on our faces, he said.

He reiterated the new organizational structure of the office under the rationalization
program and extremely happy of the additional employees working in unison for a common
mission and vision.

DepEd Batangas City in the rationalization program consists of three major divisions;
Office of the Schools Division Superintendent (OSDS), Schools Governance and Operations
Division (SGOD and Curriculum Implementation Division (CID). OSDS is headed by Mrs.
Lourdes M.Zarspe , AO V ; SGOD and CID are directed by Dr. Victoria G. Fababier and Dr.
Sacoro R. Comia respectively. Dr. Donato G. Bueno oversees the management, operation
and instructional supervision of DepED Batangas City with the support and assistance of
Mrs. Rhina I. Silva.

First quarter of year 2016 placed productive and blessed. DepEd offices are now
located in the new three - storey Mayor Eddie B. Dimacuha Building. The new building made
office transactions easy and fast because of its one stop shop style. Adjoining offices are
accessible to seventy four (74) non-teaching employees who can contemporaneously
communicate and coordinate; resulting to a structured planning and implementation of
activities. This is by far the biggest accomplishment of DepEd, Batangas City under the
leadership of Dr. Bueno.

DepEd Batangas City boasts its 101 newly constructed classrooms and 159 on
going construction of classrooms for elementary and secondary schools. Five (5) elementary
schools were granted with building repairs. Ninety (90) DPWH implemented Senior High
classrooms are in working progress while 30 classrooms from the Local Government Unit
are ready for the incoming Grade 11. Engr. Eduardo M. Ulit of SGODs education facilities
regularly monitors those buildings.

SGOD gave attention to other facets of management and operations through

trainings and workshops. School heads were capacitated in Roll-out of Enhanced School
Plan. It was a training conducted to strengthen the capability of principals in school
planning and its implementation.

The CID has national winners to add on its laurel. Batangas City take pride of its
learners and teachers as it placed Champion in the National School Press Conference held
in Koronadal, South Cotobato last February 22-26, 2016. MTAP Champion winner hailed
from Batangas City. Two national champions from Batangas City indicated the commitment
of learning leaders to hone competitive learners. Instructional supervision was intensified
using mentor-mentee approach. 100 % of the public elementary and secondary schools
were visited and provided with technical assistance regarding learners materials, teaching
strategies, and classroom management. CID came up with a practice that was implemented
division wide. Videos of the best teaching demonstration per learning area were distributed
to public schools for the classroom teachers to emulate. Assessment measured the
effectiveness of such practice.

DepEd Batangas City is moving forward the next quarter.
