AMANTANI AND TAQUILE 2D/1N
DESCRIPTION:
FIRST DAY: UROS AND AMANTANI ISLAND
On this tour to Amantani, Uros and Taquile islands, the passengers are picked up from hotels in downtown
to the port, where we take our comfortable motor boat, our guide (Spanish / English) will take us to the Uros
floating islands (30 min travel time), before reaching Amantani (approx. 2 hours) by averaging mid-day,
where families of Amantani will wait for us.
Walk (30 min uphill) to local houses in Amantani Island, well take our lunch based on Andean provided by
the islanders, well have time for resting and settle in the rooms; then well walk to the top of the island and
see the ceremonial Inca temples Pachamama and Pachatata, also well see one of the best sunsets in the
world!, then return to the local houses for dinner, and at night we go to dance with the families (the party is
optional).
SECOND DAY: Going to the island of Taquile
After our breakfast, we descend to the port of Amantani (8 am) to take our boat towards to Taquile island, have
lunch in this island and then return to the Port of Amantani (01:00 pm.) to return to Puno averaging arrive at
04:00 pm.

ITINERARY:
First Day
07:40 08:10 AM Pick up from hotels in downtown (According to your hotel Well give you
an hour close to pick up time).
08:20 AM Departure from the port of Puno
- 09:00 AM Visit 2 Uros Islands (spending 1 hour)

- 09:50 AM Depart to Amantani (2 hours 45 min travel)
- 12:30 PM Arrival on Amantani and meeting with local
families
- 02:00 PM Lunch in Familys house
- 04:00 PM Walking 01 hour, until the top of the island
PACHATATA Hill (there are ceremonial temples) to see an
amazing sunset.
- 06:00 PM Return to houses and dinner
- 08:00 PM Dancing with families in the local Pea (folk club
optional)

- 08:00 AM Departure to Taquile
- 09:00 AM Arrival in Taquiles port
- 10:30 AM Visit Plaza de Armas in Taquile (Best views and
main attractions are in here)
- 12:00 PM Lunch in Taquile
- 01:30 PM Return from Taquile
- 04:00 PM Arrival to Puno

Main course: Grilled trout or Omelet; both accompanied by rice, French fries

TRAVEL TIME
Boat Puno Uros: 30 Min.
Boat Uros Amantani: 3 Hrs.
Boat Amantani Taquile: 1 Hr.
Boat Taquile Puno: 2H 30 Min.
RECOMMENDATIONS
- Take Mineral Water with you, cause long walks (In Amantani 1 hour uphill). You can buy it on the main dock;
as well on the islands (but the price increase on the islands). After drink them, please keep the plastic bottles on
the boat that will bring again to Puno, dont leave them on the islands.
- Take flashlights, in Amantani there are not streetlights.
- Families will give you 3 blankets for sleeping, however, you can request more to the families
- Toilets are basic and there are not showers on Amantani
- We recommend carry:
A light 2days pack to carry your necessary things (cleaning supplies, camera, external batteries chargers,
etc)
Money for snacks and souvenirs in Soles. (preferable 20soles bills, avoid to bring 100-soles bills)
In general: trekking shoes, hat, sunscreen, trekking poles (optional), binoculars, pen/notebook, medical
personal medicines, electronic entertaining devices (cellphone, kindle)
Extra energy bars, because you will need extra calories for trekking parts
- Optional: if you desire, you can take some fruits to the families for sharing (you can buy them in the same port
of Puno)

BEAR IN MIND
This tour is suggested for people between 12 to 60 years old. Or at least people with good physical
conditions
We recommend for minors < 12 years old or people above 60 years old that dont have good physical
condition, go with a private guide for doing to their own time. The price for a private guide is $70USD
($35USD per day up to 4 people)
