Criteria for Admission in M.Tech/M.S(R) program for 1st Sem 2014-15
Interview dates: 15th May for JOP & JTM; 16th and 17th May, 2014 for other M.TECH/M.S(R)
programmes (EEA, EEE, EEN, EEP, EES, and EET) in the EE Dept.
Criteria for direct admission for all programmes, all categories: Gate score > 975 & 80% or 8.8 CGPA in qualifying
degree. (Only EC GATE score is considered for EEN direct admission.)
For IIT B.Tech Graduates: CGPA > 8.5 in the qualifying degree (IIT graduates do not require GATE score if CGPA>8.0)

Subject to minimum of (i) 60% (6.75 CGPA) for GENERAL and OBC (Non-creamy layer) and (ii) 55% (6.25 CGPA) for SC/ST/PH in B.Tech or equivalent
degree.
Regardless of the above cut-offs in any of the above programs, a printed original gate score card must be produced on the day of the interview
explicitly stating that the candidate has qualified in GATE 2013 / GATE 2014 (the word 'qualified' must appear clearly in the score card).
* Minimum experience for Part-time/Sponsored candidate is one year as on 1ST August, 2014.
Important Note: For MS(R) Applicants: An MS(R) candidate (EE Dept.) can appear for interview in any of the two committees
where he/she satisfies the short listing criteria listed above for the following committees: 1. EEP, 2. EEE, 3. EEN, 4. EEA, 5. EES, 6.
EET. Examples:
1. If Mr/Ms. X a GEN Full-Time candidate has a GATE score of 865 in EC he/she can present himself/herself for MS(R) interview for specialization
in any two of EEA, EEE & EET. He/she will not be eligible to attend interview for specialization in EEP, EES and EEN.
2. If Mr/Ms. X a GEN Full-Time candidate has a GATE score of 865 in EE he/she can present himself/herself for MS(R) interview for specialization
in any two of EEA, EEE, EEP, EES & EET. He/she will not be eligible to attend interview for specialization in EEN.
3. If Mr/Ms. X an OBC Full-Time candidate has a GATE score of 850 in EE he/she can present himself/herself for MS(R) interview for specialization
in EEA, EEE, EET, EEP and EES. He will not be eligible to attend interview for specialization in EEN.
4. If Mr/Ms. X an SC Full-Time candidate has a GATE score of 590 in EE he/she can present himself/herself for MS(R) interview for specialization in
any two of EEA, EES and EET. He/she will not be eligible to attend interview for specialization in EEN, EEE and EEP.
5. Similarly for other categories and Part-Time candidates.
